I’m not Jan 2012 but I know what you mean! I did so much from 12-10 months out, then there really wasn’t a whole lot besides coming up with ideas until about 6 months! Let me think if there’s anything I realized now I could have done…

-map out your programs, if you’re doing them

-design your invites, if you’re doing them yourself

-help the bridesmaids choose some things

-little details like table numbers, candles, escort cards etc

-look around for more inpirations

-look around at ceremony styles/readings

-buy some bridal accessories (jewelry, shoes, a pretty hanger, etc)

-find photo locations

-get a head start on your pre-wedding work outs

That’s all I can think of, hopefully it can keep you at least a little bit busy!

Im with you in a low period of wedding planning… we arent getting married until May of next year and since we got the big stuff out of the way 7 months ago when we first got engaged right now I feel like I have nothing to do… and all the things I think of doing its way too soon to do… so Im just sitting here.. doing nothing… feeling anxious to do SOMETHING!! Anything!! Well I actually did my floral initals over the weekend (well just 1) and I painted my table numbers but thats about it. Everytime I think of something to do and call the event planner she says oh honey thats for final arrangements so blah I have nothing to do

With only a 5 1/2 month engagement, I still ended up with about a month’s worth of lull.

At the moment, I have 4 days before I leave for my wedding, then a week in my hometown to prepare.  Yesterday, I was bawling and dancing like a loony in random intervals, with no explanation for the mood shifts.  Everything that needs to be done except cleaning here and set-up/last minute stuff there is done.

I had a wedding planning lull right after the big push to lock down vendors. Then I spent a lot of time just looking at ideas for decor, figuring out what I wanted in a dress, that sort of thing. But we are getting married long distance so we had to make a lot of fast decisions and so I think that made things a little more high and low as far as activity. But now everything is full speed ahead!

Almost all of our wedding plans our finished, minus some of the smaller details, and I’m positively thrilled that we’re in that lull! We just moved to a new state, he has a new job and I’m still looking, we have lots of family stuff going on, and a few friends are getting married over the summer. If I had to fit all kinds of wedding plans into that mix, I’m sure I’d be crazy frazzled.

I should note that my wedding gown just came in!!! I’m in that nervous/excited state, hoping that I still love the darn thing as much as I did originally. Hopefully I’ll get to try it on soon and take it to my parents’ house for safe keeping. So, given that, I guess we aren’t in a lull so much as a brief respite.

My mind is currently stuck in a loop of gowngown-what if I hate it?-don’t be ridiculous!-gowngown-moving-packing-job-gowngown… ๐Ÿ˜€

Yup, I’ve been in a lull, too.  For over a month.

I have sent out the electornic STD to those who need the “constant” reminder (they’ve probably already forgotten, though, lol), have designed the invites and invite inserts, the STD’s that’ll be mailed, worked on the programs, and have hit a dry spot.

We’re penciled in at our venue for the ceremony and reception, the website is done and the info has, sorta, been sent out (on the electronic STD’s, but I’ll put up something else in that particular folder later with website and venue/cabin rental info).

I’ve bought the dress, have plenty of time to worry about flowers (DIY’ing ’em), and kinda bored now!

@BostonBaby: Very exciting that your wedding gown is in!  I’m sure it will be fine and once you try it on you will remember why you ordered that one. ๐Ÿ™‚

I am also in a bit of a lull.  We have done most of the big things now, only have the cake to go – we have decided on who is making it but need to talk about flavours etc and apart from that don’t have that much else to do at the moment!

In a way I feel good, but also I feel anxious like there is something I am forgetting about doing or that closer to the time there will be too much to do.  But oh well, may as well enjoy this time while I can!

I hit that low point too… We were looking for a house too but we have to wait 5 or 6 months on that now too so I’m just super bored… lol
