Excited2BMrsD:  I love my quarter carat ring. I’ve never been a “keeping up with the Jonses” kind of person, so I have no issue at all sporting a small diamond.

Excited2BMrsD:  mine is a .25 center with .03 in tiny side stones!! My finger is a size 4.5 so I thin. The size is perfect! It was my FIs grandmothers- engraved with his grandparent initials and the date they got engaged 1/16/46- they were married for over 50 years!! So my ring is small but traditional!! I tried on his grandmothers upgrade ring, which had 2+ carats worth of diamonds and I didn’t like the big ring! I wanted the little one!

linnylou_88:  Thank you! I really love solitaires. I originally wanted a pear, but my husband liked the heart shape, and now I love it! Don’t get me wrong, I love giant, blinged out rings on other people. They look silly on me. Which works out well, because I married for love and not money, lol

Excited2BMrsD:  I’ve only been engaged like 2 weeks, but I’ve only recieved positive comments so far. My grandmother actually told me she was happy he got me such a big diamond (I love love love it but 1/4 carat is in now way a big diamond) according to the appraisal it’s super high quality, so it has a giant sparkle factor!

Here is my ring! It’s a 0.14ct centre, 0.25tcw. I love it! My dear hubby bought if for me when he was still a college student, so I know it was a struggle to pay for. I love it so much! Many people have complimented me on my “promise ring” and look shocked when I tell them it’s my engagement ring, but I don’t care. It’s beautiful and I will always love it.

lavenderstone:  It’s really beautiful!

What, exactly, differentiates an ering from a promise ring?  Isn’t it the sentiment? An ering can be a plain band if that’s what the couple wants!

I love my ring. There are times I wish my center stone was bigger but I love how my hubby worked and saved for it. That is what means so much for me. He went with quality over quantity. The center stone is .31 adn the whole set makes almost a full carrot.

lavenderstone:  Excited2BMrsD:  Your rings are so pretty! Congratulations to everyone on your happiness.

Bridey77:  I know what you mean. I love the bigger stones but I like a smaller stone (I have .33 ct) on my finger (though my ring size is US 2.5!!)

My engagement ring is pretty unusual by Finnish standards (because it’s not a plain band) and also by Anglo-Saxon standards, because the main stone isn’t a diamond.
