I spent the majority of my wedding planning in college.  We got married 4 months after I graduated, but boy it got super stressful towards the end of school since the wedding was getting so close!

Since you are getting married in a month around when school is on break, will you be going on a honeymoon or waiting a bit?

    I am!

Right now we're still in the far stages of planning, though, so it's more of a procrastination tool. I'm putting off studying for finals right this second, as a matter of fact.

FSIL got married two weeks after she graduated. She also had a lot of difficulty concentrating on school after all of that. It's like senioritis, amplified, I guess?

Honestly, I'd just set wedding time and school time, or something like that. I know once I get started browsing the web, I have a hard time stopping. So I tend to set little goals for myself, like study one subject for two hours, then surf the web... then go onto another subject.

ME!!! I know a lot of the ladies on here are doing both school and wedding planning. I try to just be very efficient with my time and focus on what needs to be accomplished in the moment. Ughhh...I know that it is not easy, but you are almost there!!! :)

Me too. I'm getting married almost exactly a month after graduation. So far it hasn't been so bad since my mom is taking care of a lot, but I know my last semester is gonna be crazy!

july-it is SO much more fun planning a wedding!!!

Im glad to know that im not the only one with weddingitis!!

Lily-good advice, i need to start practicing that better... starting tommorrow!! LOL, no really. This week ill come up with a time plan for school work, work, and wedding. I thrive on timelines so itll be good for me. thanks!

Lilli-My wedding date was chosen because i wont be in school so we are DEF going on a honeymoon!! We will leave the day after the wedding, be gone for a week, get back and then a week later i will have school starting again. The best thing about my december wedding is that it comes with a nice holiday break and the package we got for our Mexico honemoon was too good to pass up!

i am so glad to know i'm not the only one!

my fiancee and i are both in school getting our masters degree. ever since my last set of midterms (mid October), i haven't studied at all! i've been researching for photographers, videographers, bridal gown-shopping...etc. and just like many other bees, my fiancee doesn't really help planning the wedding..........

my finals are in 3 weeks, however, with a jam-packed schedule for next week, fiancee's parents in town during the WHOLE thanksgiving week, i am just hoping i can get the mean for all my classes..

Me! Me!  I have totally put school on the back burner to plan our wedding.  It's not that I couldn't do both but wedding planning is so much more fun.  Every time I open my laptop to look something up for school I get side tracked by opening up wedding bee!

I am, too! The wedding is almost 4 weeks exactly after I graduate. And I'll be moving back to our hometown during that time! (Yay for no more long distance relationship!) It will be an exciting month, but I know I'll have trouble focusing - I have trouble focusing now and we're a little less than 7 months out!

I am! I'm getting married over the two week break between winter and summer semesters. Crazy? Possibly....but its better than the reading-week wedding we were originally planning. I'm sure its doable -  but grad school and a wedding in three months sure aren't co-existing well.

OMG nice to know I'm not the only bride in college and planning a wedding! I am planning mine from 2 states away while taking 18-21 hrs a semester to finish up and my fiance is deployed. Lots of stress! I decided to get a wedding planner and it was THE best thing I ever did. I honestly don't know how I would do it without her and she has seriously already been a lifesaver!

I graduate May of 2011 and I get married June 11 and are taking a honeymoon then we come back to real life lol and I go to work in late July! We're also getting a house and moving around the time of the the wedding, so it'll be a lot of changes but I am so excited!!

Ha and I don't know how many times I have supposed to been studying or doing something school related and I'm doing wedding stuff instead!

    Good luck ladies!!

I start graduate school Fall of 2011, and I'm hoping against hope that my BF proposes in the next year so that we can plan before I start school.  I can't imagine the stress of starting a PhD program AND planning a wedding.

I'm getting married 3 weeks after graduation and the two weeks between are Christmas and NYE! To the ladies who are closer to your date or have already finished your challenge what do you suggest?! I'll have finals, graduation, Christmas and NYE all the weeks before my wedding so I am just a little stressed and it's just under a year away! I'm planning on doing as much as I can over summer break, I'll only be taking 9 hours so hopefully I'll be able to handle it all!!!

Hi studentbride! I'm a full-time grad student, and I also work 20 hours a week, and I am planning my wedding, so...YES I know how you feel! I try to give myself a limit per day that I am "allowed" to do wedding things...and then I adjust for how much schoolwork I have. So if I have a big project on Tuesday, I let myself look at more wedding stuff on Wednesday because I didn't look at any at all on Tuesday.

If your planning is interrupting your sleep or interfering with your schoolwork, see if a bridesmaid or mom or your fiance can help you...it's important for you to be successful in school too, and then you can celebrate the culmination of your success at your lovely, perfect wedding!

Yep! We had to plan ours in the summer specifically because of school. Planning during school is the worst!

Most nights I can't sleep cuz I am so excited about the wedding! I should be studying now too but I just can't seem to focus! I have implemented a no wedding planning rule until I have accomplished some school related task...it's not going very well but I'm trying :) Nearly failed my last pharmaceutics exam so that was definately my wake up call...

We are getting married 2 weeks after FH graduates... I'm in my 8th semester with 2 more to go to finish my early childhood ed degree. I agree that wedding planning is much more fun than writing lesson plans and doing homework, but with such a long engagement we have nailed down a lot before now and hopefully will have everything ready by the end of spring break in april. Yay for student brides!

we get married 4 days after finals!  a lot of our bridal party is in school too, and all different schools, so hard to coordinate other events like bridal shower, bachelorette party, and rehearsal dinner with everyone's schedules!  it is getting hard to concentrate on schoolwork when i still need to pick a veil and a first dance song!  I try to get work done in the schoo library, where there is frequently a wait for the computers, because while I might put off my own work too look at wedding stuff, I would never tie up a school computer to do so!

I'm getting married the week after my finals too!  I already feel like I have too much on my plate (esp. cause nothing is as much fun as wedding planning).  Plus, on top of school full time, I teach 7 dance classes a week, and work another part time job. I have a dance recital for the classes I teach 4 days before my wedding too!  PLUS, I am moving the week after my wedding to where my FI is stationed, so I have to pack up everything soon.. I hate moving!

Wow 4 days after finals!! Good luck studying... I think I would fail every exam lol!

I hear you about wasting study/work time looking at wedding stuff. In fact, I am procrastinating studying for a Microbio midterm as we speak :-/

I am getting married about 2 months after I graduate. I'm hoping to envoke "senior privledge" so I don't have to worry about taking any exams, because I know I will practically be boucning off the walls by that time! :)
