@2bMrsG: Sorta!  My fiance and I are running off to the Keys to get married.  I’m kicking him out to get ready, lol.

We’re doing the same but in NYC. Going it alone..well, we have a photographer that we’re flying in to take some pictures. I think FH is going to have to help me get in the dress, so idk about a first look, but maybe when I turn around. I haven’t worked that out yet, but I don’t think I’d be comfortable having the photographer help me get in the dress.

I am planning to get married in Vegas in the fall. FH wants it to be just us. I would like to invite close family and friends (knowing most won’t be able to make it). I have the same issues – lace-up dress and will be alone for a couple hours while dressing and getting hair done. He is NOT allowed to see any part of the process – just the final product. 🙂 I told him I’d make it clear to everyone we invite that they do not HAVE to come, but if they do we will be around for maybe a lunch before the wedding and the wedding, but after that they need to make thier own plans as this is our first REAL vacation in 2 years and our honeymoon… No bridal party – if my sister comes I’d like her to sign as a whitness, but that’s it.

One of my bridesmaids was moving from the east to California. They were driving and decided to stop in Vegas and get married! They wore jeans and just did a little quick ceremony. She has exactly 3 pictures and she says she wouldn’t have wanted it any other way! They’ve been married for 3 years now 🙂

Are you going to hire a photographer for any of it? They can do “getting ready” too. I went to my hair/makeup alone (in Vegas, btw). That was the focus. My eyes were closed for nearly all of makeup and hair was a lot of work. My Bridesmaid or Best Man came towards the end to help me into my dress. She sat there at a distance while the hairdresser finished up. It wasn’t that social. I had plenty to think about.

Have you picked your chapel/venue?
