This is kind of shameful. Just kind of wanted to see if I was alone.
Our wedding planning adventure has been incredibly stressful. It seems like every time we take one step forward, we take two back. In all the shuffle, and with as little time as we have (and all the new stuff that keeps popping up…sigh) housework has taken a major backseat.
We keep anything food related clean. We empty the trash and clean the important bathroom-related things. So we aren’t going to get bugs or anything…but the place still looks like a tornado hit with all the piles of clean laundry, invitation mess we still haven’t cleaned up, non-food items we’ve bought that live on the couch until we need them, piles of video games, DVDs and books strewn about, etc.
Am I the only one that wedding planning has turned into kind of a slob? This would drive me nuts if I had any spare time to allocate toward going nuts.

Hells yes! The love seat in the bedroom is now strictly for laundry.

@EffieTrinket: Up until the week before the wedding, everything was business as usual. Planning didn’t really affect my life that much. We were engaged for 11 months, had 85 guests and did quite a bit of DIY decor. I just spaced the work out over several months. Things really only got stressful during the last week when my family was in town (staying with us) and I was still working (during my peak work season). Then other things fell to the wayside. We routinely clean every sunday like clockwork. So a tornado comes through our place throughout the week, every week, but it gets cleaned up each weekend.

I did some INSANE pre-wedding nesting! The week before the wedding I was on my hands and knees scrubbing the baseboards!

LOL yes! We also are both in school, work full time, AND have twin 4 year olds.
Don’t come to my house between now and June and expect it to be clean. Oh, and don’t mind the boxes stacked to the ceiling in my bedrooms with wedding stuff…
