I know pretty strange question right? But from the start of our realationship everyone kept saying that we looked like we could be brother and sister...and I thought okay I can kinda see that...but 3 weeks ago we took this pic and wow...I guess I can see it now.

please disregard my funny screched up nose...but you get the point.

Was just curious if any other couples look alike...please post a pic if you do.

I used to have a boyfriend that I got asked all the time if he was my brother.

My husband, not at all.  He's tall, dark and skinny, and I'm short, fair and... not as skinny.

@waffles: LOL! I see it. I dated a guy from Spain before and he's the only guy I've ever looked like (I'm Argentine). Now I'm getting married to a giant Irish guy so uhh... nope! not in the slightest!

@waffles: I totally see the resemblance!

FI and I don't look a thing alike but I have a friend who could pass for her husband's twin...I think them both being redheads makes it even more apparent.

FI and I don't really look anything alike, I don't think- it's hard, he shaves his head and has a beard, which is uh... nothing like me. Lol.

Yep - the fella and I totally look like we could be brother and sister. Both short, both with very dark hair, both very pale, similar build. We definitely look alike.

People tell us that we look alike all the time.  There was even one lady who wouldn't drop it, she kept repeating "He's you're fiance?!?  But you look like brother and sister!"

FI and don't but my Aunt and Uncle (my dad's sister and her husband) look a lot a like.  People think they are brother and sister all the time.  They have been happily married almost 30 years. (sorry I don't feel right posting a pic of them w/o their permission)

I don't think we look alike, but I did have a co-worker say to me once, after looking at a photo of us, "Has anyone ever told you that you favor each other?"  That looks like a funny way of putting it when it's written out, but that's what she said.  I guess we do have similar coloring.  Sorry--I don't have a picture right now to post.

My FI and I have similar features (both fair, blonde, green/hazel eyes), but I don't think we'd pass for brother and sister. We do have a pair of friends, however, who just got married and they look exactly like brother and sister!!

Nope not at all.  In fact we are the complete opposite of each other.  I'm fair with blue eyes and naturally light hair, (red at the moment).  He's dark skinned, dark hair and deep brown eyes.  Could not  be more opposite.  That's probably part of the attraction.

We kind of do.  We both have fair skin, blue eyes, and brown hair, but that's about it.  We've been asked a few times if we're related, but it's not too dramatic.

I think it's because couples pick up on each other's mannerisms as well, so they start to look more like each other because of the subtle body language they copy off each other.

When I first met some of my husband's cousins, I remember being really weirded out by how two of his cousins were acting with each other (touching each other a lot) - because I thought they were brother and sister!  They would always have a similar, very unique facial expression (kind of furrowed brows and down-turned mouths).  I found out later they weren't brother and sister, but my husband's cousin and his cousin's girlfriend.  It made a lot more sense then.

I have been told we look similar but not like we could be related. Though he often jokes (because my cousin has the same name and sometimes he gets confused as to who we are talking about) that if we found out were were cousins then we would just have to move to AK. lol.

@bug-in-a-rug: I don't think we are copying each other quite yet, we met each other about a year ago, and only see each other 2-3 times a week, since we live an hr away from each other. Undecided

Not at all with me and my BF, thank goodness.

I did date a guy a long time ago, though, who not only looked like he could be my brother, but we also had almost identical names!  Our first names were the same (sure, mine is the feminine version, but the nickname we both go by is identical), and our last names were both really difficult-to-pronounce Polish ones that began with the same few letters.  It was awful.

My FI and I had friends L (female) S (male) (recently split after being together for 6 years) who looked a lot a like.  Which was even creepier was L looked EXACTLY like S' younger sister.  Everyone always thought they were sisters, and thought the three of them together were siblings.  FI and I definitely don't look alike!  I'm half asian and he's blonde with blue eyes.

This was the first photo we took together, when we looked at this, we immediately thought we could be related!  His last name being the chinese version to mine didn't help so we went to our great uncles who confirmed we weren't.

i look nothing like my SO.

but my parents kinda favor (dark blonde hair, brown eyes, same skin tone, same build), so my brother and I kinda favor (blond, brown eyes, same build, same skin tone).

shockingly, my brother's FI looks more like him than I do.  She and I look very similar, except she has my brother's unique angular nose.  they could probably pass as fraternal twins.

in fact, when my brother, his FI, and I all went to my cousin's wedding together, my grandmother (who's a little loopy and doesn't get to see us very often) thought my bro's FI was me and started calling her by my name.  pretty funny.

@swtTea: LOL I loved that you went and double-checked to make sure you weren't related!

My husband and I look nothing alike.  I am tanned with black hair, brown eyes, and round features (eyes, mouth, face -- I often joke I have no chin), and he is fair-skinned and freckly with brown hair, hazel eyes, and a long-ish face.

@msnelson13That happened to me too.  My cousin's wife, my other cousin and I look very much alike (same built too) so my uncles have a hard time telling us apart.  One of my uncles was talking to me about something for an hour then got up in my face when he realized I was his brother's daughter! He was so shock I thought he saw a ghost or something! Everyone was rolling on the floor. haha

Nope not at all. Yes we share similar features (like dark hair & eyes) but we are veeeeeeeeeeeeeery different.

He's tall, thin, olive skinned with brown eyes & black hair.

I'm short, thin, with translucently pale skin, green&brown eyes & brown hair.

I have never actually heard of people making the sibling comment to dating/engaged couples... I mean, you would have to pretty close with your sibling to hold hands/kiss/hug/cuddle etc in public haha.

@lampshade, I totally concur with tessemasgirl!! OMG. LOL. You guys also make a very attractive couple though, so it works out!

My FI and both have dark hair, but that is really the only similarity. I once read a study however, that humans tend to be attracted to people that share the same characteristics as themselves. Often you will see couples with very similar noses. For whatever reason, that is a subconsious attractiveness quality. And studies have shown that couples that tend to look similar also tend to have the most successful marriages. Weird eh??
