For bouquets, I am getting silk ones from thebridesbouquet.com.

I am not having any flowers for decorations, though. For centerpieces, I am using floating candles on top of blue table runners and we will sprinkle some of those acrylic “ice” things around.

Well .. we’re not having your typical order of wedding flowers. Potted plants for the centerpieces, a few corsages, includes a wrist corsage for me. We have no attendants so I see no need for bouquets.

@mrstaylortobe:  I’m holding a bouquet of silk flowers I arranged, but m bridesmaids will be holding lanterns. The Groomsmen will have pocket squares.

I don’t want a bouquet or flower centerpieces. I don’t necessarily HATE flowers, but I wasn’t thrilled about having them. Then when I saw how much they cost I was even further uninterested. I mentioned to my fiance last night that I won’t be carrying a bouquet (I’m carrying a bridal clutch instead) and he was not feeling it. Sigh. Nobody’s gonna have me sneezing down the aisle or throughout dinner!

I think we are going to do feather bouquets and feather centerpieces. I’m not feeling the cost of flowers.

We are doing flowers for the bouquets/bouts – going to us $450 total for 5 maids, myself, 4 groomsmen, and the groom.  Other than that, no flowers.  We wil have candelabras for centerpieces (provided by the venue for free).

I’m making the silk bouquets, I’m having a brooch bouquet. Yesterday I was at Hobby Lobby and on the clearance rack they had silk calla lily bouts for .60 cents! I bought all the ones they had. I plan on spending less than $200 including brooches for my bouquet.

I’m not using flowers for decorations

We are going to make pinwheel bouquets. In my opinion, flowers aren’t worth the money. For my first wedding, my bridesmaids carried glass goblet-type glasses with candles and colored stones in the bottom to keep the candles in place. I wrapped silver and blue ribbons around the stems of the goblets. They looked really pretty at my nighttime wedding.

This time around I think simple pinwheel bouquets and candles in wine bottles will be nice for decorations. If you need flowers, then you should get them, but I’d follow the other Bee’s advice(s) and go for silk arrangements. Much cheaper and can be taken by guests as gifts.

We’re having felt bouquets, felt flower in my hair, Pom poms on the pew ends and I’m making my own boutonnieres out of sacking and silk lavender flowers. Lots of bright colours 🙂

I’m planning on making all my flowers out of paper. The cost of the paper is very slim and making the flowers is quick for me. I thought of it after doing a work training exercise involving origami.

Also, I helped my coworker a lot with her wedding and though I don’t know how much her flowers were in total, she told me that she went over her flower budget by $600! I can’t even imagine spending $600 on flowers in the first place. For my first wedding I got flowers from Costco the day before and just made my arrangements myself.

I’ll probably throw in some of the more realistic looking coffee filter flowers as well as some feathers, but here are some paper flowers I made for my work exercise.

I will be having clutches instead of bouquets for myself and the bridesmaids.

We won’t be doing any other flower decor mainly because I find it too expensive and it is bad luck to have flowers at a chinese wedding.
