@bebero:  I love my engagement ring for what it represents. I love an estate ring I bought for what it means to me. I might just fucking kill my fiancé if he doesn’t stop pestering me about picking out a wedding band. I don’t like anything and I don’t want to look anymore. So much pressure because I have to wear it forever. So much disgust at the price of EVERYTHING. I could care less about CCC or the fact my center diamond has a big inclusion that most people find offensive. Shit sparkles. Enough said.

    i love antique lockets though.

I am mostly there with you. I feel way too girly and blingy wearing most jewelry. It’s also very impractical for my job, and I hate the feeling of wearing it. I can barely tolerate wearing a watch! Necklaces, earrings, bracelets are the worst.

I love jewelry! I have very particular taste as far as craftsmanship goes… I love to oo and Ahhh over beautifuL pieces, and estate jewelry is super fun to me since it comes with its own story/history. I love my life with my FI Of course. But I also love the craftsmanship and detail of my wedding set. And I hope to acquire some beautiful/unique RHRs over the years.

@bebero:  I will have to post my locket baby sometime.

If I am not happy with anything, I will get a plain band. My engagement ring is an anniversary ring. The band I kind of like is an anniversary ring. I see a trend.

i love sparkly things but i don’t give a crap about the specs of the rings. i don’t even know the specs on mine. i’d have to go to look it up if i want to know. i love seeing gemstone rings more than diamonds because all diamonds look the same to me and i love color! i don’t wear any jewelry other than my e-ring and wedding band and plain small hoop earrings.

I’ll also  say I don’t care about specs. I can’t even remember what color my diamond is. I’m just glad it sparkles lol

Rings are my favorite because you can look at them while you’re wearing them, and I like to stare at shiny things. If you try to look at a necklace while you’re wearing it, it’s awkward.

@bebero:  You can find estate sales in the newsappear. The prices will vary… There are special businesses that specialize in coming in to run the sale and will set the prices of items…. The hope is to get lucky and find the estate sales where the family or someone not “up and up” has set All the prices, cause then you’re more likely to find low priced goodies!

@Jabberwocky:  That’s a good point… I was just thinking of how I like my diamond necklace…. But love looking at my ring… I’ve even pondered getting the necklace pendant set onto a ring for my right hand.so I can actually see it. Not that anyone asked… Lol but I think this halo pendant would make a pretty ring.

@bebero:  But also, a lot of times estate buyers will get access specifically to the jewelery before the sale hits the public… And that’s how a lot of pieces end up in antique stores.
