Friday is quickly approaching and I find that I keep checking the weather! Since last week the weather forecast seemed to change every half day to every day, but now it seems to have settled into one forecast. I am not even sure why I am checking exactly since the weatherman is typically wrong in my city! Haha. Anyone else?

I did this! The weather was glorious for a fortnight before my wedding day and for some reason they forecast rain on the day itself. I was so upset but luckily we had chosen a venue that worked indoors and out so I tried not to worry. It did rain for us! Not torrential but enough to warrant umbrellas…. those umbrella pictures are some of our favourites! The weather will pass you by unnoticed. Other people will tell you this and you may think it’s just kind words but I can honestly say you will not care. You can’t change it after all, you will have an amazing day however Mother Nature decides to play!

I’ve been checking too. Of course I’m only having engagement pics done lol. I think I just obsessively check the weather any time there’s something going on. Rain means good luck! But I totally wouldn’t want to deal with it. That’s why I couldn’t have an outdoor ceremony I would just freak out to much lol
good luck! Try the Internet for weather!

yup and it’s calling for rain….I want to cry…even though ceremony and reception are inside. Just a bummer.

WasMissNowMrs: Oh, I know! That is (sort of) why I went indoors. As long as it isn’t a downpour, I’ll be happy. It’s just getting some photos lol.
MrsPhishBee: Haha yeah, I use Weather Network. Where I live has a rather large river and a lot of valleys and hills, so I heard that it is actually more difficult to predict here! At least engagement photos can hopefully be changed to another date if the weather is too bad!
alysee: I was hoping it would be like last year at this time lol. At least the leaves have turned into gorgeous colours!

Um, yes! Beautiful every day BUT Saturday near me, of course! But like a PP said, I hope we can get some amazing rain photos!!

Our wedding isn’t until August but I know I’ll be doing this.. I do it with everything, even if I’m just going on a night out with friends I’ll be checking the weather constantly days in advance, and even worse if I’m going on a holiday! I’ll be a nightmare with the wedding, probably start checking over a month in advance which is silly as like you say it changes every 5 minutes so really there’s no point in looking until the nifht before!
Anyway I hope the weather is lovely for you xx

My day is just a few days shy of the 10 day forcast… part of me doesn’t want to look AT ALL. but i know people will just tell me anyway (my mom, bm’s etc.) so I mind as well. I know it’s going to turn into an obsession though- eek!
I think we all need to remind ourselves not to get too caught up in the things we can’t control! At least- this is what I keep telling myself over and over again… I hope you have a beautiful day (whether it’s beautifully sunny or beautifully rainy!)

laceydoilies: Yes! I really want to get married outside, so I’ve been stalking the long-range weather forecast for weeks. So far, looks like it might be chilly, but no rain. That could all change, though! It’s giving me wrinkles.

I will be for the next 17 days. Our October weather is seriously hit or miss. I have written down the highs and any precip. received for the last 6 years… and I’m hoping the odds are in my favor!
2013, it was 48 with a trace of rain. 2012 was 60 with almost an inch of rain. 2011 was 57 with no rain, 2010 was 51 with no rain, 2009 was 44 with no rain, and 2008 was 53 with no rain.
I’m hoping for a sunny day, with a high in the 50’s. Our ceremony is outside, and will remain outside unless it’s REALLY cold or raining. However, trends have shown that Fridays are better weather days then Saturdays – so that might be good. Maybe.
Last year, I closed on my selling my home on October 18 (a Friday) and it was a great sunny day. My wedding is the 17th, so we’ll see based on the temp listed above for the day before that last year.

I am doing this too. I’m in lafayette Louisiana and it says 50% for Thursday and Friday. I was upset that it’s going to rain at all but now i’ve accepted it not like i can control it now i hope it just doesn’t pour as were walking in and out are trying to do pictures

I keep checking the long-range forecast. The entire week is at least managing sunny intervals with slight cloud.
My date is the only day that week it’s presently due to rain.

I’m also getting married this Friday & looks like possible showers, cloudy and high of 54. Was bummed but it is a fall wedding so kind of expected. Hoping to keep things dry for our late-afternoon outdoor ceremony.

Yeah, i’ve been checking, although my wedding isn’t until the end of the month. The beginning of october is looking great here – we are having an outdoor ceremony and my officiant keeps emailing me about there being a “problem because her chin gets cold and it’s hard for her to speak if it’s cold out”. I get it, it’ll probably be chilly but I don’t think it’ll be that cold.. the record low for October 31st was 68 degrees during the day.
I plan to purchase really large umbrellas [60″] just in case.

Yessss… I realllllly want an outdoor wedding. It’s the only part of the wedding I really cared about besides getting married to my love. I looked back at historical data for years and picked the day that had the least history of rain. (Nerd-alert.) Also, I’ve been checking the month forecast for weeks and ALL OF OCTOBER has been gorgeous EXCEPT for our wedding day and the day before. This morning I checked and now the ENTIRE WEEK is rainy. I know it’s pointless to worry about it at this point because it’s all speculation, but man, I could use some peace of mind! I’m certain that it won’t really matter to me on the actual day, but I’ll still be a little disappointed. (Our indoor option isn’t nearly as beautiful as the outdoor option.)
