Hi guys, there is a weight watchers community website which is cool, but it would be awesome to chat with like-minded brides to be!
ive been on weight watchers for about 4 months. I’ve lost 22pounds to date. It can be hard sometimes. I cannot give up because I wanna feel as good as possible on my wedding day!
if anyone wants to chat, give advice, or encourage one another I would be open to that 🙂

@MUAbride2be: ive been heavy dieting for my november wedding too. but ive been doing the atkins diet (low carb) and have lost 33 lbs so far since jan. 1st. i love the results of the atkins but all i can eat is meat cheese lettace eggs (some other veggies are ok too like broccoli, colliflower….) but im getting SO bored with it. i thought about switching to weight watchers but am afraid of the whole counting points thing. atleast on atkins i know what i can have and nothing else. is weight watchers easy to stick to or is it hard because you get little tastes of the food you want to pig out on? my goal is to loose 50 lbs (would like to loose more but its an acheiveable goal) by my wedding in november. so im almost there but would love to keep going. do you think i should try and switch over to weight watchers or just buckle down?

Hopefully the link works! With that said, I find it to be a great, healthy and fulfulling program that allows you to eat what you want, pretty much, when you want. Why? Because you are allotted points per day, with ‘cheat’ points per work. So, for example, if I know I am going to a nice Italian dinner this weekend, then I am really careful about what I eat during the week, thus ‘saving my points’, and then splurge at the dinner!
Yes, it comes down to portion control ultimately, but that does not mean you cannot have what you want. And, I have found that the things I love, like ice cream for example, are really tasty via the weight watchers brand, or smart ones, etc.
Definitely recommend it to anyone 🙂

I have lost around 50 pounds using weight watchers and I compleatly love it. Ironically I never thought I would, I attended a meeting for free with a friend and fell in love. I think it is a really geat lifestyle change and not just a crash diet. The program is easy, I never fell deprived, and as you said it is nice to be sourounded by like minded people with a smilar goal.

Weight Watchers 4 life here! 🙂 The only thing that works for me. I’ve lost 90 lbs. over the past few years. Still have a while to go but I’m upping the ante in preparation for w-day. 😀

@langloiswedding2013: I’ve been on Weight Watchers for about a year. I actually really like it because I can get a little taste of the stuff I’m craving. If I try to completely cut something out I end up binging on it later. It’s a little difficult at first as you enter points for things and learn about the point values for different foods. After about a month I had a lot of the foods I eat entered into my account so it was fairly easy to stick too. I would say give Weight Watcher’s a try!

I’ve lost 25 kilos (approx 50 pounds) on Jenny Craig.
If only I lived in a time when ‘larger’ was viewed as prettier!

Weight Watchers works! It’s seriously a lifestyle change. Yes, we all have to put the work in to lose weight, moving more, eating better…but I’m realizing weight loss is a huge mental workout and it never ends. I have weeks where my points are made up of meals and snacks that are just healthy, all homemade, nothing too processed. I also have weeks where if I don’t have alot of time to plan ahead, I can grab the premade meals to get by. These things give me variety and I can truly never feel bored or sick of eating the same thing! The WW phone and Ipad app make it SUPER EASY to track my points, find new foods to try and see my progress! I’ve been on since Jan and I’m down 34 pounds! I too have had weeks where I go to a meeting and the scale says i’ve only lost .8 pounds and it’s a huge let down, but the weeks fly by and in the end the lbs add up! I’ve found workouts that are FUN so excercise is becoming second nature. I’m in the gym 5 to 6 days a week. I don’t just want the scale to move, I want to transform my body. I want to be FIT. The gym is totally doing that for me. I hope to lose at least another 50 before my wedding and to be at my goal by my 1 year anniversry. I have a ways to go, but I’m motivated and inspired!
It works if you work it! Keep going, in the end you’ll be happy you did.

@ladiv3568: the gym, the gym, the gym….I hate that place!
but you are right, everyone I speak to tells me that it would make everything happen so much faster if I went to the gym and worked out….I don’t know why I have such an anxiety about going!! I take long walks on my days off…..I know the gym would help more so though.

@MUAbride2be: last year we had a membership with planet fitness. They offered no classes, no pool, no variety. All they had was tredmils, ellipticals, arc trainers, a few bikes and weight machines. All of that works, but if its not your thing, it’s just not going to work for you. So this year we switched to our local YMCA. Between the group classes, the different swimming classes and the equipment, I could literally go 7 days a week and not take the same class twice. This has been HUGE in me sticking with it this time. Zumba is a good time, not excercise. ( at least that’s what I’ve convinced my brain of) swimming laps with fins on is fun, Ripped is great music, some weights, and being there with a room full of people interested in moving for 60 minutes makes me feel as good as the already fit people around me 🙂
Find something you’ll enjoy. Once that happens you won’t dread it. You’ll look forward to it.

Sigh, I just signed up for the online version yesterday as there are no meetings where I live. I did it once before and liked it (although I’m not sure that I lost any weight on it?) so I think I’ll try it again as I’m trying to gain some confidence and good habits before the wedding.

I love WW! I’ve been on it for a little over a month and I’m down 7 lbs. doesn’t seem like a lot but I haven’t seen the scale that low in years! I am still pretty new to the program and would love WW buddies to be able to talk about everything with. Please feel free to PM me! 🙂

Weight Watchers is crap. I took a look at it once and with how much I work out I was about to eat more than I already did. Diet and Exercise is the only way to go.
