Definitely not the first or last!

I started shopping for dresses the day after my boyfriend (now my fiance) showed me a brochure of engagement rings!

We started talking about ideas for the wedding then as well, the ring didn’t come for a couple months (finances).

My ring was custom made and the jeweler ended up taking about 2-3 months LONGER than expected to construct the ring.. My ring was PERFECT when finished, so I can’t complain!  But because the jeweler took longer than expected, we started planning our wedding before we were technically engaged.  Thank GOODNESS we started planning without the ring because we only had a couple dates left to pick from that worked for both the church and our venue (even though we were a little over a year ahead of the actually wedding date).  We didn’t tell the church or the venue that we weren’t technically engaged yet because I didn’t want them to think that we were going to change our minds or back out or something (not sure they would really care, I’m just a worry wart)… But I did encounter two different vendors who actually asked me “If you’re getting married, why don’t you have a ring on your finger??” lol  If your fiance is okay with it, let the planning begin!

I don’t even know when the ring is coming but I’m already socking away ideas for everything. I’m an uber planner and the SO understands this – I’m not sure he’s aware of the extent of it but he doesn’t seem to be threatened by it.

I just made this account like 5 minutes ago, so I’m a newbie. Sometimes I wonder if I’m getting ahead of myself…then I tell myself: “Yes, you are” And then I think…..but WHO CARES?!!?!?

It’s good to see there are other ladies in the same spot. I mean, the rings are basically in our hands right? We know it. So, let’s have fun, save ourselves the stress…and LET THE PLANNING BEGIN!

I look at ideas but haven’t actually planned anything. The only part of wedding I’m sure of is who my groom will be…haha. I can’t even decide if I want a Vegas wedding or a wedding where we live.

I looked at ideas and thought about what I wanted but I didn’t actually make plans. Once I was engaged though I knew exactly what I wanted and how much things costs so it made it easier 🙂

We’ve talked about getting married, rings, etc. but no actual engagement has been made. But here I am browsing websites and finding cool ideas. I see no harm in it 🙂

The planning is helping soooooo much, we’ve already started visited venues and hope to book within a month since our date is gong FAST!!

I know the ring is about a month away, but I haven’t done any concrete planning. I’m constantly gathering ideas though! We also have a list of a few venues that we know want to check out, and I’ve started working on our guest list… but the real planning is going to start when I get the ring!

Girl…I started planning 2 years into the relationship…it will be 4 years in Nov…and I’m nowhere near the ring (that I know of). I have wedding favor catalogs, dress catalogs, magazines, galore! My bf is well aware of this fact and doesn’t care at all. He likes to joke around and say that by the time we do get engaged I’ll already have it planned! And he’s pretty much right! I got it narrowed down to 2 color schemes, I know what kind of cake I want, flowers, we both agreed on a beach wedding, I know what photographer I want to use and where I want to get the invitations. All that’s left pretty much is venue and attire! Lol…

Yes! LoL, I have done counts and have started up the subject of funds with my stepmom and mom (that is gonna be a fun future topic, NOT!).

I have this big jinxing-it fear, though, I know the ring is coming but I don’t want to put money down on anything until I have it. I feel like it is the same as building a nursery before getting pregnant, too scary! LoL.

Well, I have ideas set aside and I’ve been looking at the venue we want. HE suggested the venue, so I’ve just been on message boards with info about it.LOL

I also have a binder now. 🙂
