I was OBSESSED with inspiration boards when I first got engaged, and really for the last year. But at this point, with the wedding 3 months away…I am so sick of them! I feel like 1. They make me stress out about another super adorable detail that I won’t have the time/energy/ability to incorporate into my wedding and 2. I think I’ve stopped being taken in by the idea that all weddings should be picture perfect and photogenic and perfectly posed/matchy-matchy. And of course, I’m also sick of adding pictures to my inspiratin folder on my computer.
And yet, I still find myself checking style me pretty every other day… It’s like an addiction, I tell ya!

I’ve only been engaged for a month and that’s how I feel! I think that a lot of bridal blogs can give unrealistic expectations to brides that everything is supposed to be so effortless and easy, and that every single DIY thing will come out beautifully, etc. Most of the time the brides are already insanely talented (e.g. graphic designer) or they have a lot of money. You just have to do what makes your wedding YOU, and if you’re done at 3 months, then you’re done. No reason to add more stuff (certainly not if it’s going to put you over your budget).

@hilsy85 at this point I’d just keep what you want and not worry about adding anything… unless well you really wanna add something. Let YOUR inspiration board be your guide and don’t worry about others.
I don’t spend a whole lot of time looking at others anyways b/c well I’m kinda ocd about the way I want my wedding and other people just don’t fit mine quite right.
I’m in the middle of my engagement and like you @MissKatelyn I found myself burnt our pretty quick.. BUT can’t say I’m sick of the inspiration boards yet… not mine anyways.
I do have to say though…. alot of my stuff has been DIY and has turned out better than I expected but that by no means is b/c I’m already a designer or even crafty in comparison to most.. my is simple trying to cut budget and time invested.. LOTSA time. lol
