It seems to have completely missed us down here in AL.
Watching news channel 4 as I type this. The flooding is devastating, people are stuck on I-40 and the semi-trucks are trying to drive through. People have been stuck for about 5 or 6 hours.
The flooding in my area (coffee county) hasn't been bad but we had tornado watches all night last night.
This is the worst I've ever seen it.
There's a video of a portable classroom from the school where my mother-in-law works floating down I-24. FLOATING. It's really awful. My husband's family has evacuated from Franklin, and my parents might have to evacuate from Bellevue.
@gidgett I'm so sorry it's so bad in your area. I hope your families will be okay and that they have somewhere safe to go.
I feel so bad for all the people who's homes and vehicles that have been destroyed. I bet the insurance companies are working around the clock right now.
Thunder is starting here again, hopefully this next round won't be too bad.
I'm on the West Coast but read/saw what is going on overthere. Hoping all your friends, family, and homes are safe!
It was pretty bad in Lebanon, but here at home not too bad. Definitely wetter than usual, and the "river road" is completely gone in places. My basement has about 6 inches of water in it.
My family is in TN and while they are on a hill and not getting it as bad, the horses across the street almost drowned in their field! My mom said they could barely hold their heads above water - isn't that crazy?!
I know this is so selfish of me, but I am worrying about what this means for our at home wedding in 6 weeks!
@Jessesgirl: Thank you. It's been a little scary here...luckily, our apartment has been on the edge of the storm so we've just had rain, but I have a lot of stranded friends and family at the moment.
It's supposed to stop raining and the sun should come out tomorrow...I'm crossing my fingers!
Does anyone know what the rain gauge at Nashville International is reading right now?
I'm not sure if this is from Nashville International, but the total I just saw (starting yesterday at midnight up until right now) is 11.91". FI's med school classes are cancelled tomorrow because Vandy's having some bad flooding and the school I work for is closed tomorrow too. We live in a highrise in the Gulch, but the courtyard on our floor has flooded and water is coming in under the door and threatening our condo...eek! The flooding is ridiculous! My thoughts are with everyone who is suffering from it!
Oh man, I am getting so worried about the water not going down before the wedding! :( Our wedding night hotel already cancelled our reservation.

You can find pictures of some of the damage here
Hope everyone in Nashville is okay! I'm heading down there next Tuesday for my graduation and so far it looks like everything is still supposed go on.
I'm so sorry about the flooding and destruction that you all have suffered. I grew up in Franklin and I am heart broken to see Nashville destroyed the way it has been.
If you know of anyone that needs anything, please let me know. I am in DE now and my office is gathering donations.

It is RIDICULOUS out here in Nashville and the hubster and I are trapped in our apartment. Anyone else stuck?
