We are!

Mine/Partner’s Age: 27 (will be 28 when we start TTC)

Baby #: 1

When will you start TTC: August 2018

Doing anything to prepare: Losing weight. I’m down 25 lbs and hoping to lose another 40ish

Most Excited For: I’m really not sure, it will all be just so new to us! But I suppose seeing my husband as a dad is something I’m most looking forward to.

Most Nervous About: Just pregnancy in general. If it were solely up to me I would just adopt rather than going through pregnancy but we’ve agreed to try for a biological child first.

Anything you want to accomplish before having a baby? We are waiting until my husband is done with his prelims and is mostly done with the classes in his PhD program and we are going on a family trip to Hawaii in June 2018.

Do you anticipate any trouble concieving? No. We are both young and healthy. I have plenty of time to get to my goal weight before August 2018 so that shouldn’t be a problem. And there’s no history of the women in my family having any fertility issues.

lalanono :  Me!

Your age/partner’s age: 26/46

Baby #: 1

Sibling age now/ when TTC: N/A

When will you start TTC: Depends on when I decide to go off my pill, but thinking January at the earliest, March at the latest.

Doing anything to prepare (vitamins, charting, etc)?: I’m already on a multivitamin but I will switch to prenatals later this year and would like to chart once off the pill. I’m thinking about getting the Ava bracelet for easier temping.

Most excited for: Starting a family with the love of my life! Both of our families are so dramatic about how long they’ve been waiting for it to happen. They will be thrilled.

Most nervous about: How long TTC will take (will my period come back right away?), whether or not pregnancy will be good to me, and the whole childbirth process LOL

Anything you want to accomplish before having a baby?: One more big trip – hopefully Europe next summer. Hopefully I’ll be in a better job by the end of the year. Aside from that, just getting the nursery together. If we could be moved into a new house before baby arrives, that would be great, but we’re in no rush.

Do you anticipate any trouble conceiving? Not really. No one in my family has had issues, but neither myself nor my husband have tried before (he was previously married) so we won’t know until we give it a go. Can’t wait!

Us!

Your age/partner’s age: 27 & 28 (Will be 28 & 29 when we start TTC)

Baby #: 1

Sibling age now/ when TTC:

When will you start TTC: April 2018

Doing anything to prepare (vitamins, charting, etc)?: Just staying healthy. Planning on starting prenatals in January.

Most excited for: Starting a family with DH! We have been together for almost 10 years, so it will be exciting to move forward in our next adventure!

Most nervous about: How long it will take to concieve. I have a mild case of PCOS (or unexplained fertility. Lack of periods). My doctor will be starting me on Femara.

Anything you want to accomplish before having a baby?: Hopefully moving to a different area of law in my job. It’s gotten dry doing the same thing over and over again! We also have a couple of Vegas trips booked, and Maui next April!

Do you anticipate any trouble conceiving? I’m nervous because of the reason stated above. But we have a game plan with a specialist. So all i can do is take things day by day.

I am way too excited to see this, because I have been reading the TTC boards because I’m so excited! lol

ROLL CALL

Your age/partner’s age: I will be 26, FH will be 31

Baby #: 2, I have a child from a PR who turns 3 in August.

Sibling age now/ when TTC: He is almost 3 now, will be 4 when we start trying

When will you start TTC: Right after our wedding, (9/29/18), so Oct 2018

Doing anything to prepare (vitamins, charting, etc)?: Not yet, but I will start probably about 6 months prior (around spring or summer next year). I have the copper IUD right now, but planning on getting it removed next spring and using condoms until we’re ready to try. I love my IUD but it has made my cycle extremely irregular, so I want to get it out and give my body some time to adjust and for me to get used to my cycle before we try. I will start taking a prenatal around that time also.

Most excited for: Everything. being pregnant, having a newborn again, seeing my son as a big brother, giving my husband a biological child (he is an amazing father to my son). Decorating the nursery!

Most nervous about: Giving birth. I had an extremely traumatic delivery with my son…and while it was a total rarity , it still makes me anxious at the thought of having to go through it again. I ended up having an emergency c-section (and was completely unconscious during it). I am really hoping to have a routine c-section with no issues so that I can actually be awake and conscious during the birth of my second child!

Anything you want to accomplish before having a baby?: We have a lot going on before then! I am graduating with my master’s degree this December, we are hoping to purchase our first home next summer, and we are getting married in September.

Do you anticipate any trouble conceiving? No – because I have had a previous child who was not planned, I anticipate my fertility isn’t an issue. However, this IUD has made my cycle so wacky I am of course a little concerned.

So excited to read through all these posts…can I add a question? Do you guys plan on finding out the gender of your baby? We do…I don’t think I could wait, but I think it’s amazing to do so! Also – are you hoping for a certain sex? Obviously we all want a healthy happy baby…but I would love a little girl. My FH and son would love a boy, though!

Your age/partner’s age: 32/38

Baby #: 1

When will you start TTC: Sometime after our wedding in May. May at the earliest, December at the latest.

Doing anything to prepare (vitamins, charting, etc)?: Losing weight (or attempting too!). Not really charting yet. Will start vitamins a few months before trying.

Most excited for: The new adventure with my partner. Having a child that’s a combination of both of us, and hopefully mostly the good parts!

Most nervous about: Everything! I am a worrier. I hope to have a healthy pregnancy and healthy baby.

Anything you want to accomplish before having a baby?: I want to lose more weight. At least 50 lbs, probably more like 80. That is the main reason we probably won’t start trying immediately after the wedding. My partner wants to lose a bit of weight too. I also am starting a new job soon so I will want to feel a bit more settled in my career first.

Do you anticipate any trouble conceiving? Hopefully not, but my period tends to be inconsistent when I am stressed so who knows.

beevincent18 :  We’re hoping for a girl 🙂

lalanono :  Thanks for this thread, I’m struggling to keep my excitement under control so it’s nice to see others in the same position

ROLL CALL

Your age/partner’s age:  30/32

Baby #: 1

When will you start TTC:  July ’18

Doing anything to prepare (vitamins, charting, etc)?:  Already on a good multivitamin and will start prenatal viramins probably in May.

Most excited for:  Becoming a mom! 🙂 And of course sharing the experience with my wonderful hubby who I know will be a good dad.

Most nervous about: Coping with work while pregnant as I have a very physical job.

Anything you want to accomplish before having a baby?: We are visiting BIL in the UK over xmas and just want to fully settle into married life together, it’s only been 6months so far

Do you anticipate any trouble conceiving? Not really but I am a little nervous because I am over 30 and have been on BC for ages.

Your age/partner’s age: 30/32

Baby #: 1

Sibling age now/ when TTC: N/A

When will you start TTC: July 2018

Doing anything to prepare (vitamins, charting, etc)?: I’ve been taking prenatel vitamines for a while. They do wonders for your hair and nails.

Most excited for: Growing, teaching, and nurturing a little human that’s a perfect mix of me and her/his dad.

Most nervous about: Whether I’ll be a good mom. My parents have lots of issues and I had a rough childhood. Luckily my husband is the sweetest, smartest person and his parents are just wonderful. I know this kid will feel loved no matter what.

Anything you want to accomplish before having a baby?: My husband wants to finish his program first. He graduates in July 2019. I figure on average it takes 3 months for most couples to conceive so we’ll start trying in July of 2018.

Do you anticipate any trouble conceiving? I’m a little worried. My mom tried for 7 years to get pregnant before she had me. We’ve decided that if nothing happens in a year of trying, we’ll adopt.

Your age/partner’s age: 25/38

Baby #: FIRST (and probably only) for both of us 🙂

Sibling age now/ when TTC: Going off the birth control this winter

When will you start TTC: Decʻ17/Janʻ18

Doing anything to prepare (vitamins, charting, etc)?: I have a target month to start vitamins. Iʻve slowed down drinking A LOT, and have gained weight to be healthy again after a stressful year.

Most excited for: being a mom like Iʻve always wanted to one special little nugget

Most nervous about: keeping my SO a priority and maintaining our amazing relationship

Anything you want to accomplish before having a baby?: a few vacations would be nice, already have 1 booked, 1 planned, and 1 possible if weʻre not pregant by summer

Do you anticipate any trouble conceiving? Yes. Took my mom 5 years. And  twins are rampant so Iʻm worried my body wonʻt be able to bring 1 baby, let alone 2, to term. I have my own medical issues but none are genetic. All my doctors say it looks normal down there though so Iʻm hoping for the best! Adopting isnʻt an option for us I dont think so weʻll just keep having fun until it happens.

  • Wedding: July 2014

Thanks so much for starting this thread! DH and I have just made the decision to start TTC next year so it’s fun to share that excitement with other ladies.

Your age/partner’s age: both 27, will be 28 when we TTC

Baby #: 1

When will you start TTC: Not sure yet. Could be March at the earliest, but probably in June 2018.

Doing anything to prepare (vitamins, charting, etc)?: Not yet. I might stop taking my pill when my current 6  monthly stash runs out at Christmas, and maybe take vitamins from then too.

Most excited for: Holding our baby

Most nervous about: How I’ll be able to combine childcare with my career

Anything you want to accomplish before having a baby?: To become more established in my career. I’d also love to have a girls’ weekend away with my besties.

Do you anticipate any trouble conceiving? No. My mum conceived me very quickly and my BIL and SIL conceived on their first try, so I’m hoping we have fertile genes!

Ooh this is a great board for the impatient among us!

I’ve been stalking the POAS boards and wish I could participate, or even just start charting and really get to know my body, which I can’t exactly do while on the pill…

Your age/partner’s age: 29/29

Baby #: 1

Sibling age now/ when TTC: N/A

When will you start TTC: Probably Mar ’18 and just have fun with it, then actually start timing things after a couple months.

Doing anything to prepare (vitamins, charting, etc)?: I plan to go off BCP after I use up the last two packs I have at home, start prenatal vitamins at that point, and start charting after my cycles are a bit more regulated – it took a few cycles last time I went off. I’m sorry to admit I’m at the point of being slightly frustrated that TTA falls 100% on me (I’d start trying sooner but DH needs a bit more time) so at least me going off BCP will give DH and I more equal responsiblity of it.

Most excited for: Getting to create, shape and mold a new life.

Most nervous about: Being responsible for shaping and molding a person’s whole life!

Anything you want to accomplish before having a baby?: Move to a new city, save money.

Do you anticipate any trouble conceiving? Not specifically, but my sis seems to be having trouble and I don’t know specifics so I worry it may be something that could impact me.

ROLL CALL – Excited to actually fill one of these out!

Your age/partner’s age: will be 33/33

Baby #: 1

Sibling age now/ when TTC: N/A

When will you start TTC: May 2018 – hoping for a honeymoon baby!

Doing anything to prepare (vitamins, charting, etc)?: Taking prenatals, losing weight, discussed when I’ll be going off BC, and will start charting once I’m off BC. I also read Taking Charge of Your Fertility

Most excited for: being a mom! There was actually a point after my divorce from my ex that I thought this would never happen.

Most nervous about: infertility issues

Anything you want to accomplish before having a baby?: lose weight/get more fit and save more money

Do you anticipate any trouble conceiving? I always had irregular periods and have been on BC since I was 15 because of that. Otherwise, my family doesn’t have a history of fertility issues, and I won’t be that old, so FX!

ETA: we definitely plan to learn the gender. No real preference, but in a perfect world baby #1 is a boy and baby #2 is a girl.
