@ShoreThing:  I haven’t been on their forum, but I’ve heard it can get a bit… snarky!

I don’t like their forum either.  When I went on the single board and was just venting about my now FI not having proposed yet they all said I sould move on and he didn’t want me.  …ummmmno….thanks anyways!

Have heard the same, but never floated over there to find out. When I was using the knot, I had no idea it even had a message forum like WB does.

I can deal with snark. What I hate is how cluttered the site is and how poorly the forums function. Don’t even get me started on how teeny pictures post there. Nothing like being asked advice about something you can’t even see!

I keep in touch with other June brides I met there, but most don’t seem to use TK anymore.

HAHAHAHA!!!  I just went over and saw the message boards… they even HAVE  a section for “snarky brides” that’s a hoot!

I’ve never felt at “home” with the knot. I’ve joint weddingwire they are friendly! it’s one whole big happy family! and i’ve joined weddingbee a few days ago =] and i like it. I’m still getting used to it..

I agree with the PP about the website seeming cluttered. If I can’t find what I’m looking for quickly I move to another website. The homepage is ridiculous; I hate it.

I hate the website layout (though I do use their sister site wedding channel for my website/guest list). I cant stay on the front page of the knot long enough to even find the message boards lol.

I’ve only ever looked at the site briefly after hearing some negative things here on WB. I came to WB first and stayed. I can’t comment on the level of snark but the layout is HORRIBLE and very sluggish. WB is user-friendly and friendly at the same time! No need to go elsewhere!

ETA: That one time I decided to check it out it took me a good few minutes to locate where the forums were actually hidden. That site is so hard to navigate.

The layout and boards are almost the same as when my first friend got married in 2001!

I’ve always been a fan of TK. I met some great girls there. I came here for the classifieds, which are a lot more active and have randomly posted of the regular boards.

@Mrs. Mink:  it shows! They seem more concerned about making new sister sites (the  blush, the nest namely) than making their site user friendly.

yep I hate the girls over there in the NEY section…funny thing is they legit think they are giving unbiased opinions when they all share the same opinion that any NEY newcomer is BSC! Maybe if some of the girls over there stopped listening to their own advice they might actually be engaged, like I am now!

ETA: and for the record I only posted a photo of my ring when my FI purchased it…the first response I got was “and you are?”…I responded with “one really lucky/happy girl!” than I deleted the photos mentioning that I would rather wait to get engaged before posting, the next comment was all about how I was a fly-by bat shit crazy poster (um, seriously?, unless you’re a bitter psychopath who uses that term anyway!)
