Umm, no.

If your registry at Amazon and Target is small your guests will likely just give money.

Amazon has a universal registry button, I would just add the gift certifcates you want (i.e. IKEA, restuarants, etc) to that.

In my personal experience with Pinterest, often the popular items that are pinned frequently end up sold out or with broken links. I’m not sure how well this would work with a registry! Especially since some of your guests might not be familiar with Pinterest and how it works. Amazon is more cut and dry.

IceStormRed:  This sounds confusing and gift grabby.. surely your FI can make his own favorite drink and you can spring for the $30 coffee table at IKEA. What’s so wrong with using Amazon? If people don’t want to gift you something from there, they’ll give cash. This just seems like a ton of extra work and kind of greedy.

IceStormRed:  This sounds really convoluted and unnecessary. You’re better off using the universal registry button, as housebee mentioned above. It would put everything in one place, directly linking to the sellers rather than having to recreate the wheel.

That…. is not a good idea at all.  Please do not share that with your friends and family.

IceStormRed:  This just seems so pompous and gift grabby and obnoxious. Like, hey guests, I know you have no creative bones in your body so give us X, Y, or Z.

Guests do not need narratives and cute sayings. They need ideas. If someone want to gift 12 bottles of wine in a basket or a box, so be it. To tell them where to buy wine (simply call this number!) is a bit cray cray.

So now I can’t tell if this is a serious post or not…

I would delete that Pinterest board.  Even if it wasn’t your intention, it does come off very obnoxious and gift grabby.

IceStormRed:  Seeing it doesn’t make it better. Its confusing, bossy, and greedy. As HannahGrace said, don’t share this with your family and friends.

yeah no don’t do that. i think the amazon registries are borderline as it is, this is just beyond.

90% of my guests wouldn’t have known how to use pinterest anyway.

 just no.

Use your Amazon registry, there is a way to add non Amazon stuff to it.  Pinterest is not a good platform at all for something like this
