I am in almost the exact same situation. I'm in a long distance relationship only because I am also waiting to be placed for my hospital practicum!! I should be finished around march then moving. However my SO is visiting next week sooooooooo I have my fingers crossed!!! I don't really see why waiting till after your practicum would make much sense, unless it's a date he told himself to use as a goal. I know my SO wanted to be engaged before I moved to California and I won't see him after he visits this time till march or so. So I'm thinking while he's here in the next few weeks. You finishing your practicum is probably just his land mark he wants to go by and it's really not all far down the road. We handle out distance apart by texting and calling throughout the day. Were basically constantly on the phone with eachother, we also try our hardest to visit eachother every three months or so.
@Minirayray: Ahh hopefully next week you will be off the waiting list when he visits then! That is so exciting :) It is nice that there is someone on here in a similar situation. I am thinking my SO has a date in his head and it just happens to be after my practicum. My SO and I are also always on the phone with eachother, and both of us always get bugged about being on the phone too much! I find that keeping myself busy is the best to deal with the distance and the waiting. Time spent searching on Weddingbee helps! Thank you for your post, I am glad to hear I am not the only one in this sitaution :)

My SO and I have been in a long distance relationship since September, (due to my hospital practicum placement) and I am also hoping we'll engaged soon as we've been together for 4 years. I feel the distance has almost made me want to be engaged more as I get lonely without my SO. However, my SO feels it would be best to wait for us to be engaged after I finish my practicum in May. Anyone else in a similar situation? How do you deal with the distance?
