@nightborn:  I too think it is gorgeous. I am wearing what is considered a bridesmaids dress.

@nightborn:  You look awesome.  I tried to find a non-bridal dress but never found one right for me.  I don’t have a great bod & finally tried bridal dresses because I was told they are designed to fix your flaws & it was true for me.  I would have killed to wear a dress like yours though.  You really look so pretty!  And foxy!

Beautiful! I hate the word “bridal” because really, we are the brides and we can choose to wear whatever we want!

I’m wearing a non-bridal dress for the reception! It’s a sheath lace dress in turquoise or teal. 🙂

Edited to add stock picture; dress was found from Laura Petites at $59.99 CAD:

A corsetier friend is going to make a fascinator hat for me, to go with my reception dress! Completely wearable-again look after the wedding. 🙂

Mine won’t be a wedding gown either. I’m wearing this with silver sparkly Jimmy Choos and a nude chapel length Juliet veil

And mayyyyybe changing into this for the reception

@nightborn:  I love your dress too! It kinda reminds me of 1920s – 1930s glam!

lol, my ceremony/day-time wedding dress isn’t bridal enough for my cousin who watches Say Yes To the Dress; she kept bringing gorgeous dresses that made me look 16. I completely understand what you’re saying about looking for something comfortable and lightweight!

Here’s my wedding dress:

LOL, I wouldn’t mind wearing jeans on wedding day either. When I was in Singapore over 10 years ago, there was a very unique wedding fashion catwalk in a mall: there were elaborate rhinestones on long layers of tulle train sewn onto the back of jeans. At the time, I was like, “Sweet! If I ever eloped… this is what I’m doing!” (Yeah, wedding jeans!)

@nightborn:  Love your dress!  My rule is a veil makes any look ‘bridal’

I’m wearing an evening gown also. Tadashi Shoji

I’m wearing a smoky grey/charcoal coloured bridesmaid dress & getting embroidered tulle added as a waist sash & sleeve/straps/keyhole back (hard to explain).

I’m just not a white/ivory person.
