Anyone else wearing flip-flops at their non-beach wedding?

I think I want to wear flip flops during my non-beach, garden wedding. Reasons: I *love* flip flops and weather permitting, I wear them pretty much every day of the year (they are kind of my thing). Plus, FI is only about 3 inches taller than me, so if I wear heels we'll be close to the same height (which bothers me for some reason)... and to top it off, they are super comfy so I can dance the night away without fear of my feet hurting (always a plus). Background: We are having a pretty laid-back, simple, outdoor wedding at a resort near my town. My colors are green, gray & pink and I will carry a rose bouquet.

So my question- is anyone else doing this? Is it super strange? I know my grandmother will think it is "perfectly dreadful," but what do the bees think?

These are the flip flops I had in mind:

that looks like a dressy sandal to me, not a flip-flop so i think it is perfect for your outdoor garden wedding :) get a really nice pedicure before and call it a day!

I would totally do this.   Although, it'll probably be too cold for me, and my Mom would throw a giant fit...personality wise?  I'm with you 100%.

Those are really pretty! I wore flip flops at mine and it was not on the beach, more of a garden setting. I did not wear them walking down the aisle though (I just wore cute flats for that part) because I didn't want to take the tiny chance that walking down the aisle I would hear "flip, flop, flip, flop".

Thanks so much Bees! I just had some coworkers tell me that they thought it was a little weird, but I think I'm going to go for it regardless.

I think they look elegant, plus your dress is floor length, so unless people are staring at your feet, they may not notice.  I say go for it!

I'm thinking of doing something similar, since my wedding is also in a grassy area (no stilettos, dahling!) & rather informal & I'm having the hardest time finding wedges.  My problem is that FI & I are 10 inches apart & I may look like a child next to him w/out heels.  But I just may be with you on the slippers band-wagon (us Hawaiians call flip-flops, slippahs).

Elizabeth - Can you tell me where these shoes are from? They look like JCrew but I can't find them. They would be perfect for my beach wedding in May! Thanks

I'm wearing flip flops too.  They're super cute and comfy....you can't see them anyway because my dress is so long.

I'm wearing heels for the ceremony, but definitely switching to flipflops after that!  We're giving flipflops to all the girls at the wedding, so I won't be the odd one out :)

I'm doing heels for the ceremony but I'm definitely switching to flip flops for the reception. We're having an outdoor ceremony and reception that's pretty much entirely on grass so comfort is a big factor!

I am totally wearing flip flops down the aisle!  We are having a formal wedding at a catholic church...I want to be comfortable and I don't want to tower over my fiance who is the same height as me! :)

Flip-flops aren't my thing. I like the feeling of having my shoes securly on my feet. Those are really cute sandals though!
