Mine does....I have extremes....Summer time I get really dark (for me)...Dont let a summer vacation in the Caribbean happen, then I get like Jada Pinkett's complexion (when she is tanned).  On the other hand, right now, Im looking really jaundice-yellow....sickly looking almost...

My question is this: Any other AA brides out there complexions change drastically between winter and summer? Im getting married in July and I want to have a makeup trial soon, but I want to make sure that I am as close to the complexion that I will be in July...

So is anyone else gonna wait to do their makeup trial until a month or so before the wedding?  If i do it now, I know for a fact the colors they will use for my complexion now wont be the same in the summer. (for example, I wear foundation during the winter to cover blemishes, but do not need any during the summer because when I get darker they practically fade away.)

Anyone have any thoughts on this?!

If I pay attention, I can change shades pretty ridiculously.  I get crazy tan lines, and it's really hard to not rip off my shirt when I hear people say "oh black people don't  tan blah blah blah".

I like to joke in the spring that I've got to cover up to keep my winter coat, lest I end up on the wrong side of the paper bag club...

I would wait until right before.  I imagine the amount of tan changes per season, so it's probably best to wait until you're settled into your summer skin.

i hear ya! in the winter, i turn a very depressing shade of pale tan with very yellow undertones, but in the summer, even with a little bit of sun, i turn a very lovely brown with red undertones. i would say wait as long as possible to do your make up trial to try to acheive the closest natural skin tone you'll have on yoru wedding day.

oh i love this post. I am Puerto Rican and get really caramel-ly (yes, i know thats not a word) in the summer time and pale w/some yellow tones in the winter. I'm getting married early Oct 2011, so i'm hoping i will still be rocking a tan.

Thanks for the info ladies.  Congrats to all of you!!  ;)

In winter, I'm white...or so my mama says. LOL I'm like PALE. In the summer, I'm *I cringe as I say this* yellow. It's bad to say, but when I go on vacations to the beach, I don't cover up, just use sunblock.LMAO

I still wish I could get the color I got inthe DR.

Yes!  It's horrible!  I can't even do a make up trial yet, because me skin is ssoo different in the winter months.  My FI(who is white) was like ddanng you are so pale..LMAO lolol  I have a yellow undertone, so I'm ssoo needing some sun!  I love when I have a tan, no make up needed and I just have a natural glow.  I always use sunblock though.  Glad to see I'm not the only one! lol

I thought I was the only one with this problem. I go through lots of bronzer in the winter, so I don't look deathly pale or sick.

Amen girl. I am see-thru in the winters, hence the September date (after which I will hopefully be golden brown :))

I'm very pale with very ruddy pink cheeks and I can't tan if I try - but if I spend half an hour gardening on a sunny day and I go really dark (for me )
