After reading all the posts and tutorials on here for fake eyelashes and hair extensions, I toyed with the idea of trying some stuff out before the wedding, only to be surprised how opposed to it my fiancee was. He was very much of the opinion that he didn’t want me doing anything out of the ordinary to alter my appearance for the big day.
I was surprised that he even had an opinion on the matter and it kind of made me wonder if most guys would care.
Anyone else have a fiancee outspokenly opposed to them altering their appearance for the wedding?

FI doesn’t like the idea. But I know he won’t care much if I end up doing it. Chances are I won’t since he doesn’t like it.

My husband said no fake eye lashes. Which I was fine with, I didn’t want them anyway! I think he’s just weirded out by the idea of fake things on my body, plus I barely wear make up so it would just look weird on me.

My FI loves when I do a little something special for a night. We are a pretty low key couple most of the time so I know he appreciates the extra touches.
That being said, I have never had glue in extension since being with him, and he loves the idea/photos of me when I had them, but I think in reality he will hate them. They are a lot of maintenance and he won’t be able to do things with my hair that he likes. (ahem.. :P)
I’m going with fake nails, eyelashes, and some clips in extensions for our big day

@MiJuneBee: My FI wants me to feel beautiful.. honestly I could wear a bird on my head and he would love it because I loved it. FI is also used to my ‘going out’ look and my staying home look.. which are 2 totally different things lol My wedding day is not going to be much different from my going out look.

I mentioned to my husband after the fact that I was wearing false eyelashes on our wedding day and he replied with, “Oh really I didn’t even notice! You looked the same to me….” I am blonde with fair skin so black false eyelashes really stand out on me. He’s just a dude and doesn’t notice any of these things! I know a lot of men who are the same way…

My FI is not on board with me chaning who I am for the wedding, and I don’t plan to. I will be wearing makeup and a formal hairtsyle of course, which for me is pretty out there (I wear mascara and a ponytail daily). FI has even said about me working out “I love you the way you are, you don’t need to change for the wedding”. He would never tell me I couldn’t do something, but has made it clear that the woman he proposed to is the one he loves and wants to see on his wedding day. So nothing drastic for me.

FI is opposed to the concept of me using a lot of makeup and false lashes for the wedding, but I know I need them for photos. Guys don’t realize that most of the time when they think, “wow, she looks good today!” it’s not just a natural glow that the girl woke up with… it’s a case of eyeliner, luminizer, or lash enhancement 🙂

My FI wants me to do what I usually do too… but I tend to wear brightly colored fake eyelashes and lots of black eyeliner… LMAO so I’ll just tell the pro to do what she thinks would look best on me (but I’m still wearing my eyeliner! =D

he’s fine with letting me do what I want to in order to feel beautiful. He would never think of telling me not to do something. However, I do know that prefers barefaced or natural to minimal make up

My partner is pretty opposed to everything ‘fake’ he even whined when I said I would be wearing makeup (which I usually dont).
I am planning on probably using extension to bulk up my hair (which is very fine) unless my stylist can work some magic with what I have, and he’s just going to have to deal with it 😛

He wanted me to look like myself for our wedding, and I did. Hardly any makeup, glasses, hair down but curled. Nothing fancy, besides the dress. He loved it 🙂

Hes fine with eyelashes things like that. but if it came to like plastic surgery.. That would be a big fat NO. lol

FI doesn’t care about eyelashes as long as they don’t look fake. He saw me after the makeup trial and loved it. He said I was glowing 🙂
He is opposed to me getting a tan…we’ll see who wins out on that one…
