I think you should leave it. Im a Megan, and hate being called that, I currently go by Meg, but 10 years prior I went by Meggy, but now I hate that. You might feel differently in 10 years!
I was going to consider changing mine from Kathleen to Kate but SOs mother's name is also Kathleen and my SO shares the same name as his father so we sorta like the joke of being second generation Kathleen and Stephen McKLough
I think you should probably not change it. You can always go by your nickname and only use your full name in certain situations. Also, your parents might be really hurt if you decide to change the name they gave you.

I don't think my parents would stop calling me/introducing me as my full name and I can just say Kay or call me Kay
I'm in the same boat! I'm at Katilyn too pronounced Kate-lyn but spelled Kati-lyn so everyone calls me Kati. I'm trying to decide weather or not to change it to Kati NewLastName

So my name is Kaitlyn (pronounced kate-lynn) spelled weird, I know.
Here's the thing. I hate my name. My parents call me Katlin but most of my friends call me Kay. It started as just a way to shorten my name (my twin sister would call up the stairs to me using Kay and it continued). BF calls me Kay in fact, when he first introduced me to his family I was introduced as Kay.
The other thing is it sounds better with his last name (sounds like Berry).
My question is, should I legally change my first name to Kay MiddleName LastName? I was thinking if I DO do this that I would probably wait until right before the wedding or after the wedding so I could change my first name and add his last name at the same time.
OR should I just leave it as Katlin and go by Kay?
