I guess maybe it’s just the high of the engagement and everything, but I’m feeling a little overwhelmed in what is involved in this process of a wedding. I’m VERY excited, but wow everything you have to do. I think maybe it’s because we know we want to get married in Aug or Sept and I know booking at our church is a complex process (apparently you have to complete all the marriage classes before you book your date). Did anyone else feel overwhelmed at the beginning?

I don’t feel a little overwhelmed, I felt it already. Yes, it’s true, it’s overwhelming but take a deep breath and it will be ok. Take your time, follow your instincts and use the WB like nuthin’ else. These ladies (and a few gents) saved me many many times.
This is a chapter in your life that you should enjoy. You and your fiance are the writers, write the story you both want without feeling the pressure to add anyone elses ideas or wants.
I wish you the best!!!!

I think that’s how most brides feel at the beginning of the planning process. The best thing I found was to get a good timeline (they have a free one at theknot.com) which gives you a good idea of what needs to be done when. Also, don’t be afraid to ask close friends and family members with DIY projects. By the end, my dad and brother-in-law had even been recruited to help! 🙂
