I have had 3 (healthy, beautiful, and LARGE) children and my stomach just kind of hangs on to me like a dependant pet or something. As I lose weight it doesn’t seem to firm up all that much, if any.
Has anyone had a tummy tuck after children or weight loss? Was the pain worth it and how was the healing process? And about how much did you pay for the procedure? Did it take long for you to become active again?
This is something I’m seriously considering and although it is a dangerous elective surgery, I just can’t imagine tucking my stomach into my pants for the next 50 years and being happy about it. :/

@DeadUtopia: I have not personally had one but my cousin did it a few years ago. She was in pain for a week or so then she was walking around again. The results were wonderful.

I’m sorry I don’t have any info for you, but here’s a bump and an “lol” @ “and my stomach just kind of hangs on to me like a dependant pet or something“!

I never have but my aunt had one after having two kids and gaining/losing over 100 lbs. she said it was the worst recovery she’s ever had (worse than the c sections/childbirth).
I always ask the bees everything just because I trust some of these ladies a lot for their opinions on anything, but you may have more luck in a forum with a different demographIc if you want lots of responses.

one of my best friends did it a couple years ago when she was 30. yea the recovery wasn’t the greatest but to this day she says it was the best decision she ever made. no regrets.

@SapphireSun: I agree about the demographic, but the only place I can think of is The Nest and they’re lunatics that scare me. lol

Yes, I have! The best thing I ever did for myself! I have 3 children and lets just say they were not kind to my belly. Had it done 5years ago and would do it again in a second. If you have questions ask away?

Yup. A TT with some lipo on my hips to keep the proportions right. The doctor also found a small hernia which no doubt came from the 100 pointless crunches I was always doing at the gym.
Since I had it done, I’ve lost more weight and I am so happy not to have all of that hanging loose skin to ruin my look.
Well worth it.

My mom had it done and really loved the results, her recovery seemed a bit tough but it didn’t last long. She also had a breast reduction at the same time, so she couldn’t shower for a week or so and barely could lift her arms.

Plastic surgery is a very emotionally and physically tolling experience (I had a rhinoplasty a few months ago). There’s a lot of ups and downs through the healing/swelling process and it is a very odd experience to see yourself look different, but if this is something that you’ve been thinking about for years and your stomach affects the way you see yourself then you might want to consider going through with a tummy tuck. The number one thing to remember though is that the surgeon is everything. Look at their pictures, their qualifications, and reviews on them. Not having to think about my nose anymore after the surgery has been a very liberating experience for me. It was worth it for me. Good luck! 🙂
