Indian weddings have so many events! Why not wear this for one?

you could look at selling it – surely the money back would be more useful now you have a baby than having it altered into a dress for your hen do.

I know this woman did it to hers but I think it was probably a lot easier with her dress.

You could definitely make yours into something nice with a little professional help though. Or just do as one of my friends does and bust it out for Halloween parties – Zombie Bride, dye it red and be Lydia from Beetlejuice, the Corpse Bride, the list goes on..

sukiba:  I think you could have it shortened into a cocktail dress, but it’s so fancy, I think you’d have limited use for it, unless you go to VIP/celebrity events a lot. The only places that are fancy enought that I would wear that to are weddings, and I think that would be a big no-no.

I think it would be cute as a short dress. The top is very pretty.

I definitely think it’s possible! It would definitely be a very fancy cocktail dress, but that could be okay. Would you cut it about to the level where the rouching ends? Woudl that be long enough?

Personally, I turned my wedding gown into a formal gown. Since I had previously had the train removed, that really just involved having it dyed black. I got it dyed about a year ago (married a little over a year ago) and I’ve alreayd worn it twice! Once to a formal dinner for my husband’s professional society and once to a formal charity event. I made a post aobut it, if you’re interested:
