Anyone ever see a Taylor Swift themed wedding?

nope haven’t ever heard of that. I think there are lots of ways to nod to T swift without a full on T Swift theme party, which honestly sounds more appropriate for a bday than a wedding.

of course if your heart is set go for it- but I just think your wedding should be about celebrating you- not celebrating Taylor!

She could be incorporated in the music, first dance, grooms cake, favors, cake topper… Lots of ways. But I would keep her out of your centerpieces and keep your wedding wedding themed.

serenitykittie:  I, like you, am a huuge fan!  While I am not having taylor as my “theme”, I did get my “red” idea from her.  Our colors are champagne and red.  I am also walking down the aisle to an instrumental version of “fearless”, and we will likely play several songs throughout the night of hers. I was also thinking about incorporating some quotes of her songs on the programs and menu cards.

Most people probably wont even notice these touches but to me, it makes it special without being tacky or cutesy

I would take Bridebee13’s advice. Incorporate some things into your wedding that have to do with her without making her your theme. To be honest a full blown Taylor Swift themed wedding sounds like something you will say “what was I thinking” when you look back at wedding pictures 20 years later. Take some elements that can be timeless and classic and go from there.

No, I haven’t… and there’s a reason for that.

serenitykittie:  I think a Taylor Swift “inspired” thing would be ok, like a PP said with the red.

But trying to make it blatantly about Taylor Swift seems weird.

serenitykittie:  At first, your title made me cringe b/c I just imagined a 14 y/o girl’s bedroom AND I actually detest Taylor Swift!  However, the idea of taking a theme from a song title or lyrics is adorable and original!  Go for it!

Just make sure it’s not one of her yell-y, whiney breakup songs!

I honestly think you would look back and regret a full-on Taylor Swift-themed wedding. I like the enchanted/ sparkler idea though.

We are huge Taylor Swift fans”

You both are?  Does your FI really want his wedding (it’s also his day) to be focused on a young female singer who’s known for breakup songs?  Do you?

I say incorporate Taylor Swift “things” where you can…

Like Table names?… maybe a line or two in your vows?.. also titles for your program but I don’t think anything should be “person” themed for a weeding

I’m not sure of your age but it may seem a bit juvenille if not done tastefully

This is just an opinion, of course!

That is very, very odd. If I was one of your guests  I’d be very creeped out. This is like those girls that COVER their rooms in posters of Justin Beiber or something, but taken to the extreme.

serenitykittie:  I am not a huge T.Swift fan but have a love for a book turned movie alot of people hate. I’m putting little things in my wedding to give a nod. We are taking a picture similar to the first book cover and will have a quote for one of the other books in the program. I will be walking down the aisle to one of the songs from the sound track. Its a late afternoon evening wedding to give the feel I want also. They aren’t obvious and would tie in well to any wedding honestly. We really didn’t want a theme so don’t really have one but found elements from our favorite books and movies and tastefully mixing it with other aspects of our wedding.

serenitykittie:  Ugh! I wish I had known it was her birthday, I would have chosen a different date.

Anyway, I googled fireworks themed wedding, surprisingly got some pictures that are not actual fireworks.

Good luck with pulling your idea together.

Can’t say I’ve heard of that. I think there are really good ways to incorporate a favorite musician – processional song, first dance, stuff like that – without actually making the whole wedding themed around that person. I mean, it’s YOUR wedding, do whatever makes YOU happy. But it’ll definitely date itself.

I’ve not seen a Taylor Swift themed wedding. Likely because mostly every single one of her songs is about breaking up, I’m confused as to why you’d want something like that to be your wedding theme..

I enjoy Discovery ID, it doesn’t mean my wedding will be murder themed. Some ideas just aren’t suitable to grown up events like weddings.
