No - not this year :) maybe next year for V-day....I already got my V-day present - a Wii fit...which I was NOT expecting...I got him a little silly funny talking stuffed animal which he is STILL playing with.....that's why I love him...he's such a sweetie. But hopefully someone will get something sparkly this weekend!
Bluebonnet - are you at A&M?...to which I expect a YES what else would I be doing in CS? LOL...I lived in Houston for years and have many Aggie friends.
My future brother in law is proposing to his girlfriend tomorrow... I'm so excited for them! It will be their 6th anniversary too. Oh, I love Love. :)
I told him I really DID not want to have a proposal on a holiday , new years , v-day , christmas , etc. ( I would have loved if he did it on Halloween though it's my favorite day of the year. )

My FI and I were engaged on V-day... I wanted a puppy, and swore up and down that I did not want ANYTHING unless it was a puppy.... I got a ring instead.
I didn't... but I wasn't expecting it yet. Secretly hoping maybe, but I know it takes time to save up :)
A colleague of mine got engaged over Valentine's though. She's very quiet so I haven't heard the details - but she and her boyfriend adopted a chocolate lab puppy that weekend too, so I bet it was a fun, busy time!
happilywaiting - Yes of course!! Why else would I be in College Station?!? Haha.

I had been expecting and hoping for a proposal when we went on vacation last november...no ring...birthday...no ring...christmas...no ring...new year's...no ring...and so when valentine's day came up, I wasn't really expecting one, just hoping there might be a chance, but alas...no ring. 
We got engaged 2 days after V-day. We met each other on the 16th, and always celebrate our Monthiversaries. He thought it would be sweet to get engaged on one as well! :)

He knew guys all over would be proposing on valentines day, so he did it on Friday the 13th. We are having a halloween wedding =)
My fiance proposed to me last V-Day. I could tell he was nervous, but it was perfect. He took me to a romantic dinner at the Gatsby Mansion, he heard it was the most romantic spot on long island. He was in Korea for a month and came home 2 days before V-Day, so he did all this research and reserving in Korea! After dinner we were driving home and he made a weird turn and said we were taking a detour. He took me to Lake Ronkonkoma, which is a beautiful and large lake on long island. He wanted me to try on the leather coat he got me in Korea. After I put it on, I exclaimed how much I loved it, then I felt him rummaging in my pocket, he pulled out a small box...got down on his knee and said I think you'll like this one better and asked me to marry him! I loved it! I have been hoping for a long time that he would do it and find a romantic way to do it, and he finally did, and I loved every minute of it!

My fiance proposed this past Valentine's Day. He's in the Air Force, so we can't really pick and choose when we get to see each other. If he hadn't done it now he would've had to wait until Christmastime, and that was just too long for him to wait! He had asked for my parents permission back in December and planned to ask me during dinner on V-day, but he couldn't handle it and asked me pretty much like two seconds after I woke up that morning!

My parents were engaged on V-day and they have been together 27 years. He proposed in the mountains after dinner. I think years later no matter what day it's on it won't matter. I think guys like to propose on holidays because if they plan something special it doesn't necessarily signal a proposal like doing something unusual on a random day would.
