@MissAsB: Holy cow!! yeah that looks like it would do the trick, without hoops! :) Maybe I can find something like that local to try on. There are a ton of shops here selling quinceanera dresses with huge huge skirts.
I keep finding cheap ones on ebay but I can't tell how big they are, well how big they'd be under my fairly heavy dress anyway.
I wonder if layering multiple crinolines would work just so you can get the effect of it? The bridal shop ladies might think you are nuts though lol.
I am wearing a Merry Modes 4500. It is the fullest slip I could find without a hoop and it holds up my very heavy gown very nicely. I purchased mine at the bridal shop where I purchased my gown, but here is a link and a picture, so you can look at it online.

@MissAsB: Lol yep but I don't care if they think I'm nuts. I tried layering what I have here; a david's bridal "2 tier a-line" which is medium full, and then put on top of it a vintage tea length net one (and slid it down low on my hips) but that was a big fail. The tea length one just made lumps. :) I still cannot believe I tossed out a big huge vintage all-net one last summer, before I was engaged! Dumb. And I am the person who never throws anything out!!
I'm not sure how full I can go since my dress is technically an a-line though. It's a pretty full a-line so I will push it as much as possible. I have noticed, bigger skirt equals smaller (appearing) waist and I am all for that!
@noritake22: That's the same one MissAsB posted! Great minds think alike. ;)
I can't remember what your dress looks like though.. can you post a pic?
@MsInterpret: My gown is also an A-line, and this crinoline looks absolutely beautiful with it and gives the illusion of a much smaller waist. When I sit down it is as wide as I am tall. Sorry I don't have any pictures of me in it, but you should be able to get an idea from the picture of the crinoline.
@noritake22: Oh! That looks awesome!! Now I am all excited. I wonder if any formalwwear shops are open today??? I want to take my dress and go check it out.
@MsInterpret: Thank you :-)
You will be amazed when you try it on. The Merry Modes crinolines are made really well. When I tried mine on, it was fuller than the model. I am very excited to be able to wear it. I can hardly wait!!!

I am going to go try some on most likely but I was wondering; how full can you get your skirt to look WITHOUT a hoop skirt? I just really don't want a hoop skirt, for many reasons, but the main one being I don't want to mess with shipping it to our wedding location. I am wondering how my dress will work with a fluffy one that is just layers of tulle though, because the dress is heavy.
I would love to see pics or hear about what you bought to get an extra full look without a hoop skirt... ?
