Hello! I'm Aussie, but from Melbourne (the natural enemy of Sydney, lol) So I'm not much help.
Just thought I'd let you know that its only 9.30am here, and last night we all lost an hours sleep due to daylight savings, so if you bump your thread in an hour or 2 you'll get many more responses. Hopefully most Aussies are having Sunday morning sleep ins right now! :)
Good luck getting advice though, I'm assuming you are coming for a visit! (Come to Melbourne! Much better city! We are the cultured city full of food, fashion and art.) <--Again, Melbourne bias. lol.
gosh im in my 30's and i live in the bible belt of north west sydney - i wouldnt know trendy or hot if it hit me :)
I'm from Sydney, but the 'burbs - so I'm the least styling person I know! :)
There are a few Aussie bees who live more central to Sydney who can probably help you out! If they aren't busy this long weekend!

@Roux: Thanks for the tip on the time change. Sadly I'm not the one traveling there (I soooooo wish I was though). A company hired me to do some research for them. So, I don't get a say of Sydney vs. Melbourne.
Since it's now Sunday evening in Sydney, I'm going to try to bump this again.

that worked! I live in downtown sydney...what kind of info are you after? I'm not a local local - i'm actually from Canada but I've been living in the inner city for about 6 years now.
I work in the inner city, and live in the inner west, both of which are supposed to be stylin' (and full of hipsters)... I'm not cool though, so I probably can't help hehehehe
