Since I got pregnant I’ve had a few scares withmy test. First i was told I had an issue with my Haemoglobin (sp?) and they needed to test DH’s blood too to make sure it wasnt going to be a problem for the baby the it turned out that this was nothing to worry about.
Then a few weeks back I was told I had protein in my urine and they thought it could be kidney related, they ran lots of tests and m kidneys came back fine, but then instead they saw elevated levels of some toxin in my liver and they kept asking me if I was taking lots of tylenol or alcohol but i havent had either since I got pregnant. I never even took tylenol BEFORE I got pregnant. SO then they ran the tests again and this time the liver was fine and theres no clear reason why i had the elevated levels the first time around. The protein in the urine also turned out to be a couple of red blood cells so it was nothing serious.
So now I’m back to feeling good again because my liver is fine and kidneys are fine. Then I get a call about my blood work which was taken for Spina bifida scan and they tell me I have some type of anemia that can be a sign of genetic defect so they want me to see a genetic counsellor.
I just feel like they give me the worst news and then after I worry about it for a while then they say oh its all fine now. I’m wondering if I would have been better off never doing all these tests.
