I’m still looking at venues and there’s a few that I’m heavily considering – I feel like I just have to take the plunge and pick one but I go back and forth because the costs are different, the locations are different, etc….I’m not sure what to do!! How did you all get comfortable with your venue? And the fact that you’re paying an arm and a leg for the wedding? Did any of you get “buyer’s remorse” after you signed a contract with a venue? Ack all this planning gives me a headache!!!

Kind of. I love my venue but I dont think it’s good deal at all (what you get for the price). I am learning to deal with it because I know if hadn’t booked I would’ve had always thought “what if?”

We looked at 2 different venues but the one we booked was the most in-line with our budget (& vision!). Mr Rugbee and I are both carnivores. We’ll be holding our reception at Montreal’s Old Port Steakhouse. We were sold on it after having had 1 too many mediocre reception hall steaks.
If you’re not sure, ask the venues if you could scope out a wedding held there some time before you have to make a decision. You can see how the staff are, how well things flow and if this is the place for you!

Not buyer’s remorse, but I was on a super-strict budget for my venue and had a lot of requirements (includes, style, location, etc.), so I was pretty limited. I love my venue, but if I’d had more $$, I definitely would not have chosen the venue I did. 🙂 For the price, though, it’s perfect.

Revisit your TOP choices! Make a pros/cons list for yourself! =)
Our venue (Tivoli Too) is a venue we first visited and quickly “nixed” since it was WAY out of our budget/goal. Then looking at other venues I couldnt get over TT and I was comparing every venue after that to it! We ended up making our guest list SMALLER and OFF-SEASON to accomodate our budget/goal!
The only thing I hate about our venue is the time restriction, we only get 4 HOURS TOTAL! Its driving me crazy but I have talked to enough past brides that have nothing but amazing experiences and memories at TT! Go with your gut and what you really love!
