Id love to hear your stories!!!
We were together for 9 months when FI popped the question, but I think he bought the ring after only a few months!
luot: Our story is a weird one. Basically, we met when we were young, started dating at 17/18 and he gave me a simple wedding band after 2 months. It wasn’t a promise ring, it was more of a “when we’re more established, I will get you something we both love” sort of ring. So technically, we got engaged after 2 months. Our official engagement however, was 2 and a bit years later. And now over 3 1/2 years after we started dating, we’re finally closing in on our wedding date in May of next year!
FI Popped the question at 8 months! We went into courtship/dating with a marriage minded perspective and he made it known early on that he was serious and playing for keeps. Talking about our future and marriage came naturally because our personalities meshed very well. We are both generally simple people with similar values who knew what we wanted. I was still surprised when he proposed because I totally expected him to wait till we hit the one year mark. But the proposal was perfect and reflected the fun, silly people we are. Couldnt be happier! And cant wait to be his wife 🙂
We were engaged on our two year anniversaty.
I know a couple that met in high school… after their first date he went out and bought her an engagement ring. He held on to it for four years and finally proposed with it. They’ve now been married for 6 years!
We were engaged at a year and nine months. We both wanted a longer engagement, so we will be married on our 4 year anniversary! I am having a rough time thinking of anyone that I know very well that was engaged in under a year… Ironically, I was married in under 6 months, haha! I was never engaged, though. That relationship clearly did not work out, so perhaps that is not the best story, sorry!
We got engaged after 7 months of dating. No one was surprised. For the last couple months before the proposal everyone would look at my hand after each weekend, each trip, etc. Everyone was expecting it and his family had taken bets on what date he’d propose.
We’ll be together just shy of 2 years when we get married.
Not us, but my FSIL got engaged after 8 months together. Their wedding was last summer (took about a year to plan).
We got engaged 7 months dating and were married on our 1 year dating anniversary! now married a little over 7 years.
Ten days shy of a year…. although we’d been talking aboht it for ages and he had my ring for a month (I got sick & hospitalised so that kind of studded up his plan until I recovered! Lol). I can honestly say we both knew each other was “the one” after only three months… I went home to NZ for two weeks for Christmas and it was hell for both of us. We knew at that point we wanted to be together forever. Getting engaged was all a matter of timing 😉
luot: My fiance and I were engaged just after our 5th anniversary (had lived together 3 years at that point.) We both had a lot of job related lows in our first 5 years so I didn’t expect to be engaged. Instead of becoming engaged, we chose to go on our 5th anniversary to New York for a vacation before I started school in September 2010. When we get married on September 13th we’ll have been together for 9 years (July 29th is our 9 year anniversary). I spent my entire free time in school planning my wedding so when I moved home in April 2013, all I had to do was contact my vendors. I’m glad things worked out the way it did! What about you and your fiance? I’d love to hear your story!
