I didn't realize you could get married by a notary... and I thought if you WERE a legal notary you had to have a seal to verify documents...
I got married by a notary but they definitely had the stamp.
I was married by a notary, and the stamp had to go on the license.
Why does he not have a stamp or seal? love108 is correct--you do need a stamp or seal to verify documents if you are a legal notary. I actually believe the cost of the stamp is included in the fees paid to become a notary.
@strawbabies: Thanks. I am clueless about the notary marriage, but I definitely know those fancy seals !:)
He and I both found something from the state that says the seal does not go on the marriage license.
