Hello! My FI and I are getting married in Vegas! We are having our ceremony at the Wynn and our reception at Bouchon Bistro. I found that it's actually pretty easy to plan a destination wedding there, just because so many places have packages.
My first wedding was in vegas, after visiting several chapels and deciding they looked pretty cheasy IRL we started looking at the hotels and almost all of them have wedding services! We were married at mandalay bay in the ' chapel by the bay ' and had the reception at a restaurant there as well. I would highly recommend doing this because like pp said there are so many package deals you can get exactly what you want virtually stress free! Def look into the hotels because then you can get aroom with your package too and a discounted rate for additional nights. Btw ours came with a limo ride to the courthouse for the marriage license, vegas limo drivers are scary! Be prepared :)
My ex and I got married at A Little White Wedding Chapel. They were FABULOUS. We stayed at the MGM Grand and they sent a limo to pick us up, took us to get the marriage license, and took us back to the hotel after the ceremony. They even have photography packages - it was all super easy and inexpensive. http://www.alittlewhitechapel.com/opening_page.html
I am! In a few weeks actually! I chose a package @ one of the hotels on the strip, and I wanted a package that had a few nights stay included. I only booked a few months ago and many hotels were already booked for that day. Check out the knot site for reviews and information.
We are planning our VR there. Not sure where yet. We will visit in feb/mar and scout out locations. We are definitely having Elvis. Just the locaiton is where I am conflicted. The one that is in my budget, not too happy with, so I am trying to find other options. I want a certain Elvis, so I need to find an affordable place for a reception. I'm looking at hotel/banquet rooms.

I have always wanted to get married in Vegas - Caesar's Palace or somewhere classy. However, I don't think we are going to do it because FI doesn't seem to keen on the idea. I think it's more about telling people "we got married in Vegas" that he doesn't like because it sounds cheesy. But personally I think it would be awesome and so much fun. Who doesn't like vegas!? Your guests would have a blast too.
Vegas Bride here ! I'm still trying to decide on a ceremony location. But we are getting the Vista Suite at MB.
I am a local and there are over 120000 weddings performed in Vegas each year. I have heard nice things about the Grove. It gets very good reviews.
PM if you need answers to any other questions. I am happy to help. But you can have ALMOST any type of wedding you like here - it is hard to do some of the rustic (but not impossible) or glamorous mansion weddings (know a couple of places for that) you can do crazy and campy, you can do lovely country club weddings
We are having ours at the Four Seasons so we are doing more of a traditonal Ballroom wedding
My parents and grandparents were both married there, so I almost decided to go there. My grandparents were married at the Little White Wedding Chapel (like above) too! I was going to get married in Lake Las Vegas at the Lowes. If you aren't set on getting married on the strip, Lake Las Vegas is gorgeous and they have a lot of nice outdoor scenic backdrops for both ceremonies and photos.
@katydiddle: Hi, we got married in Vegas a little over a month ago. It was great because we had who we really wanted there and it wasn't to large. But I really wish we would have just done it with the immediate family.

Hey ladies,
So after everything concerning our wedding blowing up in our faces not once, not twice, but three times.... We are now leaning toward running away for a small ceremony in Vegas.
I found a chapel serive that looks great online and wondered if any others around here have used ot or have heard about it... its The Grove in Las Vegas... www.lasvegasweddingsatthegrove.com.
Any insight would be very helpful!
Thanks!
