I am not becuse I am getting married on a Friday and they only do Sat weddings!! I'm so excited for you, that is going to be gorgeous!!
Do you mind if I ask how much it was? The churches I am looking at are $2500 or $1500K respecitively
I wish! We decided to not to an NYC wedding because we wanted to make a "mini" destination out of it by having it at the Shore. But part of me wishes we were doing a big glamorous NYC event.
Do you mind telling me about what you had to do to book the church? I heard you have to be a part of the congregation right?
@JrzyGurl:Where on the shore are you getting married? I was *almost* going to do the shore, my FI's family has a house down there, but since I am not from NJ, we decided to do a NYC wedding.
@JrzyGurl: Oh, I LOVE Cape May! Well, it was actually easier than I thought to book the church. You don't actually have to belong to the parish as long as you live within a certain area to be considered. I just called, talked to the priest in charge of special events to schedule an interview. A few days later I met with him and that day we set the date. I met with him somewhere in the beginning of May this year and booked May 14th of next year (and I was the first one to book the date at that point). I guess it's like an urban legend that St. Pat's is booked 4 years out, haha!
@DashingBride: Ahhh, thanks that's so sweet! I think we are paying $2000 for the donation (which includes the organist and singer). We're SO excited!
@pdescenza: You are so lucky to be getting married there! The churches I am looking at are close to that or over and they aren't near as beautiful as St. Patricks! All the best to you!
Where is your reception being held?
@DashingBride: Our reception is at the Roosevelt Hotel. What about you?
@pdescenza:ohmigosh! we looked there and loved it, but ultimately decided to go with the Yale Club. Both have spectacular ballrooms!!
i remember shooting a wedding there two years ago. the walk down the aisle from the door is looooooooooooooooong. it's so beautiful there :)
@bomphoto:Thanks! So excited!!!! I'm surprised there are no other St. Pat's brides on here!
@pdescenza: I am hoping to be a St. Patrick's bride! My wedding isnt until March 2012 and the Priest told me to call back after Easter 2011 because they dont have the wedding book open for 2012 yet. I told him I live by Wall Street so I am not zoned for the church but he still said to call for appt after Easter. I am hoping they will have us! I always had the Tavern on the Green / St. Pat's dream but of course half of that is impossible so we will see!
@mrsesq:I'm sure that is fine. I think the priest was telling me about people from L.I. getting married there! Good luck, good luck, good luck! I hope you get it!
The Snowpeas had their ceremony at Saint Patrick's Cathedral - check out her archives if you haven't already! :)
Congratulations - that's a gorgeous location!
St Patrick is so Beautiful!! Its a perfect place to have your ceremony if you planned to getting married in the city.

I'm getting married there in the Spring and was wondering if there are any other bees getting married there, too! I'm so excited and so nervous at the same time!
