Don’t give your phone number/ email out to every “contest”. You will regret it months later when you are still getting calls about “winning” contests, which are a just a scam to get you to come watch some presentation on pots or something.

Back in 2006, I worked a bridal expo, and I remember entering some silly contest there. For the next several months, I kept getting calls about “winning some cruise from some entry I made.” I thought it was legit, but they kept trying to get me to do x, y, and z so I finally called scam and ignored them. They kept calling for a few months until they tapered off. Annoying.

Oh, I went to that last year! I thought it was by far the most fun out of all the bridal expos I’ve been to. (I went a little bit overboard at the beginning of my engagement.) There’s lots of champagne and yummy cake and some decent giveaways. The gift bag is nice, too. Definitely get a different email account for all the contest entries – they will bombard you with emails afterwards. Enjoy!
