I stopped dying mine in March 2008, and I decided I wanted to grow it really long for the wedding when we got engaged in August 2009. I just realized how redonkulously long it is!!!

After the wedding, I'm going to cut all the brown out of it. (The dye line is much less noticeable in person. My camera way exaggerates it.)

yes I am but no pics. I have tried to grow my hair out for years but I have bad heat damange (damn curling my hair everyday!) so whenever I get it cut they always have to take more than I want off.  my friend who will be doing my updo (1/2 up 1/2 down) said she will put a track of fake hair in my hair so that its ticker and longer too. woo hoo!

I started growing mine out a year and a half ago, long before we got engaged, just because I got tired of having it short.  It started at a little bellow chin-length and is now down to the back of my bra.  I'm having about an inch trimmed off next weekend to freshen it up.  I plan to keep it around this length until I get tired of it again.

This picture was taken February 13th.  My hair would just brush the top of the dress in the back now.

I don't have photos, but I'm used to my hair being at least one inch above my shoulders. Right now it is about four inches past that. I'm liking having my hair long again, but I'm so used to having shorter hair that I really feel the urge to chop it off. I'm going to keep letting it grow for the next few months before I make a decision to just chop it off. I'm so undecided!

I was growing mine out.  We got engaged in December 09 and couldn't set a wedding date because my FI had to get an annulment through the Catholic church.  In December 10, I decided I was tired of having longer hair and cut it above my shoulders.  I immediately had cutter's remorse because my hair doesn't grow fast at all!  My hair is now the length it was in my profile picture.  I still hope I can do something cute!

@Tswife4ever: Gosh you are so pretty!

I keep my hair really short, like clipper guard #3 short. Everyone always asks me if I'm growing my hair out for the wedding. You'd think that I'd have started by now if I'm getting married in October!

I swore I would not grow my hair out for the wedding :) We got engaged last october and I got my regular haircut in February, cutting pretty much everything in the back and leaving the front just around my jawline. I had a sort of straight bob with short back and straight bangs. Then something changed and I decided to grow my hair :) I relapsed and cut my bangs a few times on my own because they were annoying, but I'm growing them out now. With two months away, I hope to get another inch or so, my hair grows relatively fast. Right now the front is almost to the shoulders if my hair is straight.

I can't wait until after the wedding when I cut it back to my usual short again :) This length is really not working for me :)

Mine is super long now - way past bra strap on my back, but it's in dire need of a trim; split ends galore!

I too swore i wouldn't - i got a pixie cut in November 2010, swearing up and down, that I would be a short-haired bride.  It took my 8 months, but i grew it out long enough to wear it up on my wedding day.  I'm now sitting here, resisted the urge of the PWC!

I took part in a hair show last march and the cut was horrendous so I got it all levelled off to chin length in june 2010... Little did I know I would be getting married just over a year later!

    last june...

    and last week...

very surprised at how quickly it came back! so happy! Think it grows quicker when it is shorter. Gonna have it up in a messy beehive so I might still need some hairpieces.

    Good luck everyone!

I've had short hair for years (sophomore in high school...I'm now 25). Last spring I got a HORRIBLE cut, so out of fear, I refused to get it cut again and let it grow to the longest it had been since I was 15 (about an inch past my shoulders). A week after we got engaged, I chopped it back to my tried and true chin-length stacked bob and swore I'd be a short-hair bride like I had always pictured...

...and then the dress happened. I fell in love with a dress that just wouldn't look right with a down-'do. I've been letting my hair grow since I bought my dress in May and because my hair grows abnormally fast, I've got a shoulder length style now. I love it, but I miss the ease, movement and sassiness of my short hair, so I'm sure my bob will be making an appearance come February. :P

I grew mine out for my day. I really like it longer. I've never actually been able to keep it long because I get so tired of trying to keep it straightened and looking nice. I'm going to try to keep it long until next May when i graduate dental school so that my hair can be immortalized in the pictures they always hang up in the dental school of the graduating classes! hahaha

I had an old photo that my FI saw when I had really short hair.  So I had been toying with cutting it for him thinking what the heck it is only hair.  Then my boss had her 3 year clean report on her cancer so the girls in the office decided to all cut our hair short and donate it to Locks of Love to make wigs for chemo patients in celebration of our boss.  FI loved the short hair (went from at my bra line to over my ears 12 inches in all). I hated the short hair and have been growing it out ever since.  (still glad I did the donation however)  So it has been about a year and half.  It is a little past my shoulders now.  Still have 3 1/2 months to wedding I may stll need to add some fake pieces.

@december bride: Aw that's so sweet!!! My FI had hair that was about as long as my hair in my photo, and he donated it all to locks of love. (Some lucky girl got a gorgeous wig with long, wavy blond hair!!!)

I think I'm going to keep growing it after the wedding so I can donate to locks of love and still have longish hair. :)

I am growing mine out too, but it's pretty thin so we are going to add extensions to it. Right now it's past my shoulders but I would like it longer.

My hair grows abnormally fast.I started growing it out for something different, than we got engaged and I figure I would keep growing it. As soon as I get back from the wedding Im cutting it short again. Its way easier short... and it helps that my FI likes it better short.

I chopped my hair in June, and then two weeks later decided I hated it and wished I'd kept it long. I decided to start growing it back out. Three weeks after that I got engaged, so I figured at least now I would have incentive to keep growing it, and not get all bored and chop it off again!

@honeyoats22: I like that hairstyle you chose, how long is your hair now?

I am saving up, I have been saving up since last last year, but I have cut it three- four times both times, maybe 10 cm both times and last time (the third time) I cut it off three-four cm's just to cut off the dry ends and I immediately noticed my hair got so fuller and thicker after just one wash and on top of that I am using loreal's anti breakage shampoo balsam. That's actually the only shamppo that is working in my hair. I usually die my hair, but I haven't done that since march, and I don't think I will do anything more than saving up until before the big day. I will also use extensions to make sure my hair looks a bit "fuller".

Now a I have bangs and longer hair, hopefully next year, my hair will grow veeery long. I will also start eating horsetail (?)pills, they start to have an effect after 4 months. Last time I used them I grew hair everywhere but my hair on my head became really thick and long. Extremely long!

Measuring my hair now, I have 46 cm hair from the top of my head and down to my back and some bangs. I'll see if I can post some pics!

I had cut my hair only 6 months before getting engaged-  I had no idea, lol

here is my engagement pic hair - 9 months before the wedding, what it looked like on the wedding day and how it was styled.

I like how it turned out :)

Just got my hair cut today! It's still long. I've had long hair all my life. Ultimately, I want to feel like and look like myself on our big day, and having long hair does just that for me! :) I think I will keep it down, but with soft romantic curls/waves.

Excuse the dorky photo below, I never use my web camera, so I was playing around with it today, ha.

I am! If you've read the haircut horror stories thread, you'd have read that my hair was cut to about chin length (without my ok) in 2005. So around 2007 I started growing it back out but keeping it right around shoulder/armpit length. Since about 2009 I've been steadily growing it out for the wedding and just trimming the split ends off (so about 1/2 inch 3 times a year). Right now I'm about two full inches past BSL, and I still have about 6 months to go, so we'll see how long it gets! :-)

Heres mine.I plan to get it cut about a inch or two but other then that I plan to let it grow very long. I want as much hair as possible for the hairstyle that I want. And I have NEVER conditioned my hair but now Im doing it almost every shower.Cant grow your hair long without keeping it conditioned.

@MrsWeddingbliss: I'm the OP so there's a photo of my hair up at the top of the page. I'm going to trim it two inches pretty soon (it now tangles if i move  my head the wrong way lol... i haven't cut it in probably 6 months to a year... I'm bad.) I use dandruff shampoo, but I use Redken All Soft conditioner (I use the Redkin All Soft shampoo once in a great while).

    @miss-spunkin: Lovely!

@KnisleyToBee: OMG I may steal your hair inspiration!

@glittermoon: Nice! I wish my hair was darker... I don't have the motivation or money to keep up with dying it dark. :P

    @NDBee: WOW! What a big difference! :D

@Earlybride: Nice! I have thick hair, so I wouldn't be able to brush it if I didn't condition haha. And I have to use Redken All Soft conditioner or my hair hates its life. I bought a gallon of it a few years ago for cheap.
