Did you use wall anchors? With plaster walls, screws will just pull the plaster out unless you use something like one of these guys. (Link goes to a how to about using wall anchors.)
For a power drill, make sure you have a lot of leverage. I am frequently not strong enough to drill into our plaster walls since most of what we hung was above my head and I just couldn't get the right angle.
Yup, in our plaster-walled house, my hubby has become the king of wall anchors. You can't hang something without them.

Whoever designed our master bath...apparently needed no storage. I bought towel bars to put up, and the toilet paper holder has fallen off the wall (or more accurately, one side has. It needs plaster and then moving it. I can't seem to figure out the studfinder and have never used a power drill. Anyone have any tips?
