Because I do. Model couldnt be tackier for such a beautiful dress. whenever i want to look at it online i'm forced to see her 80's hair/makeup/jewlery. :puke: anyone else not like their dress model? seriously what were they thinking dressing her up like that??

Mine has ridiculous eyebrows. Everytime I show someone a picture of the dress, they comment on the damn eyebrows.
Oh my gosh YES.. mine has the most awful pose! It looks like she has to pass gas, you can't see the front of the dress in the fit and flare way that it is.. she is hiking up the dress and bending over slightly... It's pretty awful.
This is a very funny post! I liked my model, but I have to agree with you melissao85, this model is terrible.
I haven't bought a dress yet, but out of the ones I'm considering so far...

That's hysterical! I thought I was the only one who hated her model!!! I think it's her hairstyle that bothers me... Not a fan.
Is it bad that I have NO idea who makes my dress?! LOL I should call the dress shop and ask!
Most wedding dress models either look ridiculously cheesy or they look angry. The only remotely normal looking one is the Jim Hjelm model who looks like Padma Lakshmi.
hotchildinthecity: I personally like the "what was that explosion over there" expression on her face... I'd like to post mine.. but it SO unique, and I love that I've never seen it before.. anywhere, so I'm keeping that a little secret until after the wedding :)

Aww, poor models! Speaking from personal experience, it's tough because the hair and makeup artists choose your look and the photographer takes 1.6 billion pictures of you and you're not the one who chooses which picture gets published, so a lot of times, the models don't even like how they look. Not to be a downer, but I would be so sad if I were a wedding dress model and came across myself in this post!
@ella: hahahahaha I never thought of it like that! Also, the background, it kills me. It's like the PlayPlace at McDonald's or something.
My doesn't really bug me but I do think the dress looks a lot different on her than in real life...
I mostly want to feed mine donuts and help her wipe off all that oil!
ejs4y8... when i get closer to the day, i might give :) I don't know why I'm so weird about it... it's like I discovered a little buried treasure that I don't want to share :) ha.. for all I know, I might be the only one that likes it anyway..

Amazing that so many people had this issue.. I was so used to seeing pretty girls in pretty dresses, who knew there were so many weird poses... Ha
Oh god...THANK YOU! ME! I hate my dress model SOO much. And it's so annoying because I want to show off my pretty dress but I can't because that picture is so, so, so horrible, not to mention washed out and blurry, so you can't really tell anything from it anyway. I mean, really...WHAT THE HECK?! Who would ever buy this dress based on the photo? (But take my word for it, it's v. pretty in real life.)
P.S. Everyone's comments are cracking me up. Clearly this problem is more common than I realized.

Here is what the dress looks like on ME!
To me Maggie Sottero models are particularly bad (the hair styles and jewlery look so fussy and outdated) - which is a shame because some of her dresses are very nice.
I DO feel bad for them! They know they're styled ridiculously. To be fair, they're all pretty and I'm sure I'd laugh at myself, too, if I was retro-ified =]
I'm seconding star's comment...modeling is tough! I was represented by a great NYC agency for a VERY short period of time when I was younger before deciding it wasn't for me, and in that time found that commercial modeling is NOT glamorous! The pay is great, but you have to stand and pose awkwardly for HOURS AND HOURS and, as star said, you get no control over which images they eventually use. Don't blame the models! Blame the hair stylists, the photographers, the makeup artist, the lighting people, the photo editors, ANYONE but the models. The models just wore the clothes and did what they were told!
Yes! Mine hates her life apparently! (my dress doesn't have the flower, perhaps that's why it made me smile instead of scowl?)
Okay and also, at runway shows, models are told not to smile by most designers because it distracts from the clothes! They look sullen because they're asked to be sullen! Seriously, modeling sucks in a lot of ways. Come on, models get enough flack from inside the industry about their appearance, the least we on the outside can do is lay off about the way they look due to styling circumstances entirely beyond their control. They're real people too, and they might even be getting married soon and happen upon this thread!

Also I think the lighting is kinda weird in this pic, it looks like the skirt and bodice are two different colors or something but they are not. I hate the model's makeup and I think her lips look puffy and weird and overall I find it to just be a very ugly picture.
The dress, however, looks excellent on me ;)
@ hotchildinthecity: I just looked at your dress picture again, and noticed what I didn't see the first time because I was too distracted by the eyebrows. Where was this photo taken? And WHY? It looks like she's in front of an arrangement of giant brown children's blocks. Or maybe the blocks are normal size and she's verrryyyy tiny. Yeah, I don't think models are the problem ... fire the art directors!

@vegan and star: I don't think anyone's hating directly on the models. Obviously most of these issues are styling things, as models are very attractive!
I hate my dress model, and her Star Trek-worthy makeup.
Oh yeah, and the fact that the ONLY pictures on the internet of my dress are of it in "rum pink"... umm....yeah... (my dress is ivory)

I'm not that into my dress model, she's kind of flat chested! It makes the bust area of the dress look funny to me. I like how I look in it.
@hotchildinthecity: I mean, a lot of people have thrown insults directly at their model's features, and the very title of this thread is "anyone hate their dress model?" Everyone starts their post by saying "I hate my dress model". I just know that if I were one of the models and came across someone saying how I ruined their dress for them, or worse, insulting some of my features, it'd be offensive.
