Oh my gosh too funny! When I pick up a bridal magazine I immediately start making fun of the photos in my head and point out the ridiculous ones to FI. Who comes up with these ideas?! My girl looks like she's in the middle of doing the funky chicken. Or perhaps she's about to cave in... I'm not sure. In any case, it's pretty awkward looking.
And I have to say, as a lady who has some hips and bum, this dress looks WAY better on someone who's larger than a size 0 (she's gorgeous though, don't get me wrong), because the cut and style really highlights and emphasizes an hour glass figure. I wouldn't have picked this dress for myself going by the photo alone.
Lmao! Yall are to much!! Here's mines. I just don't like the way my dress looks on her. She doesn't give it any umph!
I hate mine too!! she is too darn skinny and she looks like she is holding a bad gas! And her hair is horrible too!!!!
Oh yay!!! I thought I was the only one. I hate showing people the pic of mine because the model is sooooo skinny, it looks totally different on me than on her. She has no curves. To make it worse, I showed my fiance the pic of the dress on the model to see what he thought of it without showing it to him on me and then a pic of it on another girl that I thought it fit more like it does on me (without telling him that of course) and to my shock (and dismay) he said it looks way better on the model! ugh!

@ sleepykirsty: I'm sure the dress will look way better on you. Your model looks like she just stepped in poo. Also, where is she? Looks like this was taken in the library of a public university.
I think the model for my dress is gorgeous. But she looks so severe- her hair is pulled back so tightly and she isn't smiling.
Emerald - your dress is gorgeous! You're right though her hair style and even veil don't really match the style of dress. Out of curiosity what style veil are you wearing with it?
Jadeblue - That's hilarious! she does look like she's gonna check her shoe for poop! I hadn't noticed that. LMAO!!
my fave is the high fashon ones where the model looks like she stuck a fork in a light socket. WHO does this hair? If my hair had looked like this I would be SOOOO mad.

This girl has no meat on her...I wish they would put a normal sized person into the dress to get a better look. Also her non existent boobs don't help either. Oh and the dress is huge in person and heavy lol.. I was like damnnn how am I gunna make it down 2 flights of stairs.

My dress is nowhere near this poufy and her pose is silly holding the rose. I would rather see just a photo of the dress by itself and not on a model.
I am so glad I'm not the only one who feels like they have to explain to others how their dress really looks. Whenever I see the photos of mine I think:
1. WHAT is going on with the skirt/train? The skirt is shaped like a tall, skinny bundt cake that just hangs there, and then the train is just sitting flat on the floor, like it has nothing to do with the skirt. Look at the lower left part of the picture...it doesn't even look like the train is attached to the skirt! It looks like something you'd put around your Christmas tree!
2. WHAT is on her neck? *Weird reference alert!* Any fans of the Harry Potter books out there? You know how Nearly Headless Nick keeps a ruff around his neck to keep his head from flopping off? THAT is what I think of every time I see that giant satin choker thing!

For some reason, my dress has at least 4 model photos (can't tell if they're all the same girl or what)! Besides the runway one, they all have the same pose-- weird. 
I don't mind most of the models specifically, but the one thing that consistently bothers me is their height. On some designers' sites, I'm absolutely positive the models are standing on platforms, because they look like they're 10 feet tall! The dress looks so different when you see it on a normal person, almost like it's not the same thing. I wish that they would stop distorting their height so much.
OMG This thread is too funny! I hate my dress model so much. Besides the fact that my dress looks nothing like the picture in real life (thank god!), the only pictures of my dress online are in this ugly silver color (mine is a beautiful ivory). So yeah, I'm gonna have a hard time selling my dress online if people look at this ugly model picture first. Is it just me or is her butt photoshopped out of the picture? Haha!

Yes--well, I wouldn't say "hate," but she wears the dress SO differently than I do. I feel like she looks so stiff and overly formal.

I actually don't mind the model for mine. I appreciate that she has a similar hair color and skin tone that I do, because it helped a lot in deciding what color to order. I may not have been brave enough to go with the blue and silver if they didn't use that model. However, I HATE the blue flower thing in hair (it's not actually in this photo lol, it's in the new catalougue). It's so silly. I also don't like the pose so much, because you can't see how gorgeous the skirt and train is.

i really don't like my model. not only did she look anorexic but also that her pose made it hard to see how the dress really looks like!

My sister and my fiance both said the same thing when I showed them my dress on the model: "She needs to eat a cheeseburger!"
That and she looks like she's doing the "I'm a Little Tea Cup" dance.
All in all, though, it looks like the same dress in real life. The color is off - I did get it in the rum pink/ivory lace combo pictured here, but it's a much more pleasant color in person (not baby-barf pink). I have more curves to my body than her, though, especially on my lower half. (For the NCIS fans out there, it looks more like Ziva in the blue dress on stage on me than the way it looks on the model.)

I finally picked my dress & get to play! My model does not look like she is styled for prom or holding her hands awkwardly...but she scares me and my family. Don't look at the picture too long or you might have nightmares! Also...note that I don't plan to wear her little jacket.

@melissao85: Thats my dress model! I searched this post when I found my dress online (I bought it 9 months ago and never bothered finding it until now) and I saw it and HATED her and I open this post and there she is. She's terrible!
I agree that these Pronovias models must be FREAKISHLY tall or standing on step.I'm not short (5'7") and my Pronovias dress looks nothing like it does on the website!!
