You can sub 1tsp. baking powder for every 1/2 tsp. of Cream of Tartar.
Thanks ladies. I ended up just buying cream of tartar. The cookies are done. They taste yummy, but they're very soft and kinda breaking apart because they're big :( Oh well, people will still be getting them as gifts!

I want to bring cookies for the office tomorrow, and have one kind of cookies I'm going to make, but want something else, without chocolate.
I'm trying to find a good snickerdoodle recipe, but am having trouble. Does anyone have good ones, that don't use cream of tartar?
