@Ktward18:  We just got a Toy Manchester Terrier and she has had 2 seizures since we got her at Thanksgiving time. The vet told us just to keep track of how often she’s having them and as long as it’s not more than one every couple of weeks they won’t bother medicating her for it. They said it won’t cause any permanent damage to her or anything, and if she’s not having them really often that there’s no sense in giving her medication that’ll possibly alter her personality. I understand how scary it is to watch though, I hate seeing her like that.

My parents have 2 mini dachshunds.  One is perfectly healthy, the other one has been having seizures since he was about 1 year old.  Same thing HeatherMM said – if they aren’t happening often, no need to medicate (he has a seizure maybe 3-4x a year).  He’s 9 years old and still kickin 🙂  I think doxies are seizure-prone.  Don’t quote me on that…but I feel like I read that somewhere.  If it makes you feel more comfortable, though, please do go to the vet to get a professional opinion!!

You’re welcome. We were really worried when she had them, but were so relieved when the vet said it wouldn’t harm her since they’re not happening all the time.
