I know very little but I THINK that’s what a ring guard is

My wedding is not until October but I have a picture of my sized wrap with my solitaire. Obviosly I haven’t worn it for more than a couple minutes but the only thing I can tell is my solitaire will move slightly inside the wrap which is why I will get my soldered. This might be because my engagement band is thinner than the wrap as well. I will get my soldered together but I think as long as they fit well together you could do it either way! Hope this helps.

Here is a picture of them not soldered together yet!

I have a solitaire and also like to wear it alone or mix rings I stack with. I love having options. If I were to solder them together I am stuck with one look.  When I stack the rings move a bit but it doesn’t bother me. I would never solder mine.

These are bad pictures since I’m bouncing in the truck, but the first picture is my wrap.  The second picture shows my engagement ring inside the wrap.  My wrap was custom made to fit my ring, so it doesn’t spin or slide despite almost 14 years if daily wear.

megan331979:  We actually had a warranty on my ring that would have been affected if we soldered mine together so we chose not too. It is a Leo Diamond princess cut solitaire at roughly .5 ct. Then the band is also .5 ct. Sorry for the gigantic picture!

megan331979: Thanks! Mine does not slide, it sits pretty firmly in place. Although some of the others I tried with this ring I did have that problem. I guess it just varies by ring.

megan331979:  I have a ring wrap, and will not be soldering them.  It hugs the ring quite nicely, with only minor movements.

My sister’s aren’t but they pretty much stick together. Her e-ring was an heirloom, so it’s obviously old, and her wedding band wrap is from a local jeweler. I guess she ordered it specifically for that ring? Not sure how that works.

Mine isn’t soldered and I have been wearing it for almost 2.5 years with no issues so far. The jacket actually fits my ering very nicely but it’s a tiny bit bigger than my ering so the ering sometimes slides out when I take off my rings. But while wearing, no issues so far.
