Love the snoogle! I was hesitant to purchase it, but I'm a back sleeper and couldn't ever position pillows, DH, etc correctly to sleep on my side until I caved and bought the snoogle. Now at almost 39 weeks, I have a hard time getting comfortable enough to fall asleep without it. I'm 5'9" and was a little worried it wouldn't be long enough, but it works fine for me. The cover is kind of a PITA to take off and put back on for washing, but that's my only (very minor) complaint. It does take up a bit of real estate in the bed - we have a king, so that hasn't been a problem for me. I used it when we traveled and had a full size bed, and it still worked, but I'm not sure DH would have been too excited about it for my entire pregnancy if we had a full size bed at home.
@owlbride: Thanks! At 5'2" I am worried about possibly being too short for it. I am only 12 weeks, but I am thinking I need to "learn" to sleep on my side sooner rather than later!
@heathaah: Just wait, I'm 14 weeks and I can already only sleep on my side. lol
@zippylef: Can you sleep well enough? I have this weird sleep pose where I am half on my stomach and half on my side with one leg bent up to my chest. I don't think it is going to last much longer!
I am wondering if I want this pillow because it looks like a huge cheese curl, which is what I have been craving lately! Can I get an orange cover for it???
@heathaah: Haha! That's actually exactly how I've been sleeping! Except, I've been doing it with a body pillow to prop my top leg up. It creates this little area where my belly can hang between the pillow and the mattress. I'm starting to show, so back and fully on my belly are waaay too uncomfortable now. I'll probably have to switch it when I start to get bigger, but for now that's the only way I'm comfortable enough to sleep.
I had one, and actually preferred just stuffing pillows around me in various places. The Snoogle was good for keeping me on my side in the latter half of the second trimester when I WANTED to sleep on my back, but knew I wasnt' really supposed to... but once I really got big, it just wasn't as comfortable as one pillow between my knees and one under my belly.
I actually slept the entire time in the position you described and only used a regular pillow between my legs at the end of the second and during the third trimester. I thought I was going to NEED a pillow like the snoogle, but it turns out that a regular pillow was all I really needed.
Lol I just had to search google for snoogle... it made me giggle. I'm not pregnant but I want one!
When I was pregnant I actually used my boppy in a similar way to the snoogle... tehe
@heathaah: This is how I'm sleeping at 17 weeks. I just use one of our couch throw pillows to either prop my bent leg or my belly on depending on what is more comfortable. I have always fallen asleep on my stomach- I don't know what I'm going to do if/when I'm all belly! I have been eyeing up the Snoogle in the event that I can't use my half & half method much longer. :)
I had to Google that too.
Looks pretty awesome to me. I have a body pillow I've had since my teens which I'm currently twisting into a similar shape around my body and using my regular pillows for my head, but if that ever stops being enough for me (I'm 19 weeks), i'll definitely be picking one up!
OMG> No idea these existed but I will need one. I am a tummy sleeper and can only sleep on my back as a back-up. I can not CAN NOT sleep on my side ever. I need this!
OMG I LOOOOOVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEEEEEED my snoogle! I slept with it behind me and in front, depending on how I wanted to lay. Dont worry about being too short, you can curl it up more to accommodate where you need it. I slept with it in my front for most of my pregnancy, then around maybe 30 weeks I started using it behind me bc I was rolling on my back during the night. It made me have to put a pillow under my belly, but it was so worth it.
@heathaah: I started practicing early and I am pretty good at side sleeping by now. It still sucks, and I miss back/tummy sleeping, but it is what it is. I actually do the exact same 1/2 side, 1/2 belly thing. I'm definitely starting to pop now, at 18 weeks, but it's still working. It's a nice variety to the purely side sleeping, but we'll see how long it lasts. I'd get the snoogle if it went all the way around, but I feel like I'd always want to flip it in bed...??
I bought one but returned it. I hated it. I used a pillow between my knees instead. I used to have to shift from one side to another when I was pregnant and that damn thing was impossible to shift with me under all the blankets. A simple pillow between my legs was much easier.
