@savannahb:  Sorry I can’t relate.  Sounds difficult.  Hope you find the support you’re looking for.

@savannahb:

While I can not relate to you, I can be there for you to vent!

It makes me sad that you can’t talk to your friends about this! I always thought of Seattle as on par with the San Fran area in terms of liberal acceptance. Is there a local trans support group or just social group you guys could join/hang out with? It might help to have more like-minded people around to build a foundation with so that you can have these discussions!

I can’t personally relate, but I know there are a ton of support options in the San Fran area – Seattle likely does, too!

@savannahb:  My current SO is not trans, but I had a fling with a ftm friend of mine, and it took time but we are still close friends. The attraction was an issue for a while though. So while I’m not in the same boat I have a lot of experience that may help. I’m also Bi/Pan and from a very LGBT family/community (I have 2 moms and a dad) – I’m getting married at the first church to conduct gay marriages in Canada, OH YEAH!

@ceebree:  +1. I have a lot of theoretical background on this topic, but no practical experience.

@savannahb:  Hmm maybe there is a weddingbee-like site that has discussion boards to help you out? I have no idea where to direct you, though, sorry! It’d be a cool thing to start if it doesn’t already exist!

One of the Bee bloggers, Ms. Ferris Wheel, married her FTM husband. He’s not stealth, but I recommend reading her blog nonetheless. It’s interesting and insightful, and she doesn’t shy away from her own struggles with coming to terms with his changes and how it affected their relationship (especially since they began their relationship as a lesbian couple).
