I think you’ll have better luck on the BTD forums.

I got an Amora Gem Ultra and original but ended up returning both of them. I posted my full review of the Amora Gem, with pictures and videos, here: http://bit.ly/P5Zrmy

BTD will have a lot of pictures and videos, and the members there will, for the most part, focus on the positives of the stone. If you’re looking for a balanced review of the Amora gem I would also look at reviews on here and on The Facet Lounge.

cdpslh913059487:  Legion:  I have an AG and love it, and highly recommend it. On various websites, you’ll find both pros and cons, but hands down there definitely way more people who really love and appreciate the stone for what it is. @cdp, I’m a size 7 finger and went with a 3.9ct AG. here’s a photo.

Hey cmbee, as with anything, there are people with different tastes and different preferences, and what is the perfect stone for one person is not so for another.

The Amora Gem is a stone with an incredible color, cut, and brilliance. So I agree, when it’s not judged against anything else it has a beauty of its own. But it is currently advertised as having 200% more fire & sparkle than a diamond, and I (along with many others on that thread) did not find that statement to be true. It has more brilliance & lustre than a diamond, but it doesn’t have the fire, sparkle & optical properties of a diamond. The sparkle & fire & optical properties are things that you can only notice when the stone is being moved, so the photos of the Amora Gem never capture its weaknesses. They only highlight the cut, color and brilliace, which are its strengths. It also looks stunningly gorgeous in sunlight. So if you look at the advertisements for the Gem, they’re always either videos of it under sunlight, or photographs of the Gem.

I find it misleading that it is being advertised as having better fire & optics than a diamond, and I wanted others who are thinking about using it as their e-ring stone to know that while its brilliance is better than a diamond, its fire & sparkle is not.

cdpslh913059487:  Here’s my 2.02 ct E IF Amora Gem Ultra. I’m in love with it! The cut and colour are superb. It is very diamond-like in pretty much all lighting.

Also, check out this link: http://betterthandiamond.com/discussion/ubbthreads.php/topics/680014/261. About half-way down – it appears that Johnathan from Good Old Gold is in the process of doing a thorough review of the AG, just a snippet is posted now with the rest to be posted when the review is complete. If you live in NYC, where GOG is located, you can have a look at the gem IRL as they will be stocking a few.
