I LOVE my emerald cut!!!

Wow ladies those are gorgeous! I hope it doesn’t offend anyone by me asking, but I’ve been wondering if you find that the Emerald cut doesn’t “sparkle” as well as the other cuts?

I have an emerald with a halo.. sorry the picture is HUGE! lol
I thought the same thing about anti-sparkle, not true! However, it is a different sparkle than a brilliant cut for sure. I think color and clarity on an emerald cut are VERY important for the sparkle factor. Here's mine
@jenbabe: Emerald cuts don't sparkle the same as brilliant cuts. The brilliance to an emerald cut is it's clarity; there aren't nearly as many facets in emeralds as there are in brilliant cuts, so it won't reflect the light as much. However, you can see straight through a flawless emerald cut diamond, and it's simply stunning. My emerald cut is flanked by bands with brilliant cut diamonds, and yes, the bands "sparkle" much more than the emerald cut, but again, it's a different brilliance.
If you want the shape of an emerald cut but the spakle of a brilliant cut diamond, go with a radiant cut.
Hey ladies - I decided on an emerald cut too, but we have a tight budget for my e-ring. So, not to be rude, but may I ask what carat sizes your emerald cuts are? I'm just seeing what I'll be looking at...
Thanks!
@JenBabe: I second DecemberBride's suggestion for you to look at Radiant Cut diamonds. They will give you all the sparkle of a brilliant cut, but also the rectangular shape you're looking for. Just be specific about the shape you want because the ratio of the sides on a radiant can vary quite a bit. My center stone is a radiant, but it's a perfect square.
Mine is not an Emrald cut but a Radiant cut. It is the retangular shape though.
@lassroyale Mine is 1 and a half carat total weight... but we got it on massive markdown from zales. I suggest shopping the sales!
I have posted mine so may times...but here she is again :-)
All I can say is you ladies are lucky. Mine doesn't even compare :(
I adore my emerald cut! And quite frankly, I think it sparkles just fine!
@Lassroyale: My center stone is 1.4. It is an estate piece so we got a very good deal

I am not yet engaged but am starting to think about what kind of ring I would like when the time comes. I really like Emerald and other similarly cut rings but don’t see many out there. Do any of you ladies have any photos of your beautiful rings that you would like to share? The rectangle style would be nice but all are welcome to post some bling.
