What are your thoughts on it? Do you like it? Do you have an Ipad 1 or 2? Do you use it for school? They just opened up an Apple store out here and to be honest, I have never been too into the whole all touch screen thing. I just recently got an all touch screen phone and I HATE IT! LOL. But when I was at the Apple store glancing around, I noticed they have a case for the Ipad that includes a keyboard. I love how easy it is to carry the Ipad around and the keyboard makes it great to use in class so I figured I would ask 🙂

Hubs has an iPad 1. I got it for him as a cheap fix after his computer pooped out. All he uses the computer for is email and surfing the “free” section of Craigslist anyways. It is kind of annoying that there is no way to put data onto it directly. You have to connect it to another computer and then transfer music or photos.

@JoJo Bananas: Wow I didnt know that!

I have an iPad 1 and an iPod touch. The iPad is just a bigger version of the iPod touch. A total waste of money but a cool toy.

@Tswife4ever: Yeah the only connector on it is the “ipod” type horizontal plug. Not even a USB or a way to hook it up to a bigger screen. I’m not sure what connectivity the second one has. I usually wait for version 3 or 4 before buying a new Apply product because it usually takes them a while to work out the kinks (and lower the price) but since it was cheaper than a new computer for hubs, I went ahead.

my FI & I got an iPad 2! we went half and half with the price, & we LOVE it!!
I use it to surf the web, email, Facebook, i even record my class lectures in it using garageband! I also saved a lot of $ on literature books this semester because i got the books on the Kindle app for $.99 and some were even free!
I take it with me everywhere… when i’m shopping for something (wedding stuff), i take pics of items email it to my fiance or bridesmaids with just a tab! its supper easy to use and light weight…
i also use the calendar a lot… i synced it to my laptop & transferred all my calendar schedules and meetings on it. its also perfect for wedding planning. i have all my vendor contact in it and can email any of them in a matter of seconds.
FI uses it mostly to read, surf the web, youtube and to watch movies… he also loves it when we go shopping together, i try on clothes and he is on the ipad! lol
we really enjoy it, its a great tool & supper easy to use… all apple products are. :]
i to have a touch screen phone & hate it but its not at all like the ipad. :]
there are some limitations like you do have to connect it to a computer to get pictures and stuff, but other than that, its perfect! :]
good luck & i hope that helps!

I have the iPad 1. I really like it. It’s convenient. It’s replaced a book or magazine for reading in bed at night. My cons are not being able create albums, etc without connecting to another device AND having to use the HTML source editor here on WB. Also the “home” button takes a break and decides to stop working every now and again.

I’m purchasing one in the next few weeks to replace my pathetic laptop that just died. A lot of people will tell you that it’s just an oversized iPod Touch, however there are many apps made exclusively for the iPad that make it worth it. They are putting out a new update to the operating system soon that will make it where you don’t really need a 2nd computer. However if you illegally download movies and music or you want to rip CDs or DVDs, you will need a 2nd computer.
