@beeb:  hi! I’ve never been to a wedding there but I am considering it. I love their Sunday jazz brunch. The food is great and the vibe is so funky and cool. I think you’ll have a great wedding there!

Have you had their food/beer?  I’m not a huge fan.  The space is really dark, too.  What other places have you considered?

Given that your date is May 10, 2015, I think it is REALLY early to be putting down a deposit. I don’t think Manayunk Brewery is a spot that’s going to be booking up 1.5 years in advance, and a lot may change over the next 6-8 months. I personally wouldn’t rush to put a deposit down, but that’s up to you.

But if you aren’t sold on having a traditional wedding reception, maybe it could be more like a big party with dancing to celebrate your marriage. You don’t have to do all the traditional wedding reception things, but you can still have a nice celebration so that your boyfriend/fiancé gets what he wants as well. I personally haven’t been to Manayunk Brewery so I can’t speak to that in particular. But I think having the reception/party at a restaurant is a good way to cut down on costs (given that you won’t have to pay for rentals, venue fee, etc.).

Have you been in In Riva in East Falls? I don’t know how many people you’re having but I think that place is amazing and you might be able to do your reception there! Just a thought for another option 🙂
