1. Is there any kind of tradition in the JW thing for weddings? My FH used to be a JW and the family is "supposedly" coming and we dont want to offend anyone.
2. Also is dancing for JWs a bad thing?
I have some family members that are JW, and from my experience the weddings are the same as any other Christian weddings. The ones I've been to included dancing! The only difference that I noticed was in the actual ceremony, since it was JW-oriented and included more worship in it. And much less alcohol.
I think people might have personal beliefs about dancing and alcohol, so you may want to check it out with them? Hope that helps a bit!
One of my employees is a JW & she explained it to me that 3 things are celebrated outside of their circle: weddings, anniversaries & death (along with other life accomplishments/milestones).
I think (as with any religion) it depends on the individual, but she told me that JW aren't against dancing or drinking. It's a huge misconception that JW's don't/can't dance! They won't get down & crazy, but they will bust a move! Ooh she also said that they won't participate in other wedding traditions like catching the bouquet/garter, etc.
